Collaborates with engineering to translate customer needs into product strategy and represents the company externally. Requires space or deep-tech experience, government acquisition expertise, proposal management skills, and eligibility for a U.S. security clearance. This is an onsite Golden, Colorado role with approximately 30% travel.

Design and iterate structural components and docking hardware for modular spacecraft. Support thermal management, mechanical integration of electronics and sensors, harness and connector layouts, and structural and thermal analyses. Contribute to hands-on assembly of flight hardware while applying CAD, prototyping, and engineering analysis skills.

Develop and test flight software, ground-station tools, communication protocols, and simulation environments for modular spacecraft. The intern will support telemetry visualization, command sequencing, distributed systems, and debugging across software and hardware interfaces. Work involves C/C++, Python, embedded Linux or bare-metal firmware, networking, and spacecraft or robotics systems. The role is a 12–15 week Spring 2027 internship in Golden, Colorado.

Design, analyze, test, and qualify spacecraft docking, capture, and mating mechanisms for repeated in-space operation. Own latch design, electrical interfaces, alignment budgets, structural load paths, tolerance analysis, wear and life testing, materials selection, detailed drawings, and supplier engagement. Collaborate across GNC, systems, electrical, avionics, software, manufacturing, and test teams to deliver flight hardware from concept through production and on-orbit operation.

Own spacecraft production operations, including work instructions, MES processes, assembly kits, non-conformance resolution, equipment calibration, and ground support equipment. Support technicians on the build floor, improve production efficiency and yield, and provide manufacturing expertise to design engineers on drawings, SOPs, and design-for-manufacturability decisions.

Mechanical Engineering Intern supporting the design, analysis, integration, and hands-on assembly of spacecraft hardware. Responsibilities include developing structural components and docking interfaces, thermal management, electronics and sensor integration, harness and connector layouts, and structural and thermal analysis. The role requires CAD proficiency and foundational mechanical analysis knowledge, with preferred experience in space environments, FEA, ruggedized connectors, machining, 3D printing, or prototyping.

Identifies and qualifies government and commercial spacecraft opportunities, develops customer relationships, manages capture pursuits, and maintains the business pipeline. Responsibilities include researching markets, competitors, budgets, and acquisition pathways; preparing briefings, white papers, RFIs, and MOUs; supporting conferences; and translating customer requirements into product strategy with engineering. The role is onsite in Golden, Colorado and requires approximately 25% travel.

Own relative-state estimation for spacecraft proximity operations and electromagnetic docking. Develop, tune, verify, and deploy navigation filters, measurement models, simulations, and flight software in C++ and Python. Define navigation accuracy budgets and perception interfaces, conduct hardware-in-the-loop testing, support flight operations, investigate on-orbit anomalies, and contribute to absolute navigation for assembled spacecraft. Collaborate across controls, perception, avionics, and systems engineering.
