The CFO leads nonprofit financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, accounting operations, audits, grant compliance, internal controls, and financial reporting. The role also oversees HR strategy, employment compliance, recruitment, benefits, payroll, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and HR systems. The CFO partners with executive leadership and the Board, supervises finance personnel, supports organizational planning, and ensures effective financial and workforce management across a remote, multi-state organization.

Performs nonprofit accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, grant accounting, payroll support, reporting, audit preparation, and compliance. Also manages benefits administration, onboarding and offboarding support, operational requests, subscriptions, and process improvements. The role coordinates with staff and program managers, maintains confidential information, and supports the CFO in strengthening financial controls and organizational procedures.
