Drive execution of the Inertial Fusion Energy Program’s Implosion System by managing integrated schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, resources, documentation, design reviews, experimental campaigns, partner commitments, budgets, and contracts. Coordinate target design, physics, fabrication, metrology, procurement, and external teams while tracking progress and escalating issues. Designs, builds, and optimizes cryogenic systems for inertial fusion energy. Responsibilities include experimental research, ultra-low-temperature system design, COMSOL and Python modeling, thermal and fluid analysis, test-stand documentation, collaboration with national labs and universities, and knowledge transfer across multidisciplinary teams.

Develops LabVIEW and Python control, automation, and data acquisition software for pulsed laser test systems. Integrates instrumentation, DAQ hardware, timing, triggers, interlocks, and communications interfaces; executes verification procedures; troubleshoots hardware and software on the test floor; maintains automated tests, version-controlled code, and controls documentation; and supports experimental test campaigns.

Designs and owns electrical integration packages for control systems, including schematics, panel layouts, wiring, grounding, power distribution, cable schedules, and bills of material. Leads design reviews, change control, technician handoffs, fabrication support, checkout, commissioning, troubleshooting, and as-built documentation. Coordinates interfaces across controls, mechanical, pulsed power, optics, and facilities teams. Designs, develops, integrates, and tests mixed-signal electronics and firmware for laser and pulsed-power systems. Responsibilities include PCB design in Altium, embedded C/C++ and FPGA firmware, real-time control, hardware bring-up, debugging, data acquisition, automated testing, system integration, documentation, and commissioning. The engineer owns boards end to end, leads small projects, collaborates across engineering and manufacturing teams, and mentors junior staff.

Own and deliver control, data acquisition, interlock, and test systems for large experimental laser facilities. Lead requirements, architecture, software development, integration, verification, validation, commissioning, and lifecycle support.
