The Data Platform Engineer will manage, automate, and optimize ClickHouse infrastructure, focusing on scaling and performance for high volumes of data. Responsibilities include dynamic provisioning, query optimization, and using automation tools, while ensuring optimal hardware usage for workloads.

Lead and grow developer-to-developer conversations across forum, Discord, and Reddit; identify and spotlight superfans; build systems to surface, enable, and reward contributors; seed topical discussions, run events (AMAs, livestreams), and collaborate with IRL events. Maintain community health without turning channels into support, recruit and empower volunteer moderators, and develop a sustainable superfans operating system.

As a Backend Engineer, you will develop and scale PostHog's billing system to support growth, implement flexible billing models, and ensure accurate financial reporting. You'll focus on automating processes and handling complex data modeling.

Own initial customer relationships for inbound and warm outbound leads, qualify and convert prospects, manage deals end-to-end, hit quarterly targets, provide product feedback to engineering, advise on technical configuration and adoption, and deliver high-touch, responsive customer engagement.

Create and maintain knowledge bases and context pipelines, build and ship LLM-powered agents and AI tooling, produce technical content for developers, and design docs-as-code systems to keep docs and agent context up-to-date.

Own technical relationships for 25–40 mid-to-large customers, ensure retention and growth by troubleshooting issues, advising on configuration, managing escalations, handling commercial renewals, and feeding product feedback to internal teams.

Own a pooled book of ~1,000 paying accounts using signal-driven prioritization to drive expansion, credit conversions, cross-sell, and retention. Build playbooks, provide product intelligence to product teams, refine the signal engine, and create scalable outreach content. Focus on accounts in the $500–$1,667 MRR band, intervene on declining usage, and hand off accounts that qualify for high-touch TAMs.
