These 5 CO Companies Raised a Combined $1.47B in November

Colorado tech companies saw significant growth last month, with five companies raising a combined $1.47 billion in funding. This is notably higher than the nearly $200 million raised in October. Read on to learn how these companies are investing their latest funds.

 

#5. $5.6 million, November 3

Coming from Boulder, the data engineering consultant company raised $5.6 million led by Tercera. Hakkoda specializes in Snowflake, with employees trained in data migration, machine learning, architecture and more. The fresh funding will be used to increase its presence in North America and Costa Rica, to expand its team of data engineers in Latin America and to build vertical solutions on the Snowflake platform. Hakkoda is also building its flagship delivery center and customer innovation center in San José, Costa Rica.

 

#4. $16.5 million, November 8

Assignar is a cloud-based construction operations platform based out of Denver and Australia. The company raised over $30 million since it was founded in 2014, and will continue to invest in product development and expansion. 

 

#3. $22 million, November 30

TextUs is a texting platform that allows businesses to better engage and communicate with employees, candidates and customers. The company raised $22 million in a Series C funding round which will go toward expanding its platform and scaling its team. TextUs has 48 employees nationwide with plans to hire about 40 more people over the next several months.

 

#2. $30 million, November 1 

The Denver-based company raised $30 million in its first funding round. Founded in 2017, Whimsical is an app that allows customers to better organize and integrate notes, mind maps, documents and more. The Series A funding was led by Accel, with participation from Basis Set Ventures.

 

#1. $1.4 billion, November 19 

The Broomfield-based aerospace company said its latest funding round is the second-largest private capital raise in the history of the aerospace and defense sector. Sierra Space has partnered with Blue Origin to develop a commercial space station called Orbital Reef, which has been described as a mixed-use business park for research and commercial customers.
