It’s been a while since we featured a Wishlist Top Company, but we are back at it and excited to introduce you to Slice of Lime. This year, our top company profiles will focus even more on company culture and what makes each business unique. Why should employees want to work for you? Why should clients want to work with you? We do the digging here, and bring you the best businesses across Colorado.

Company: Slice of Lime

Industry: Tech/ Design Agency

Location: Boulder and Denver

Employees 17

Age: 13 years

About Slice of Lime: This design agency focuses on creating user-friendly web and mobile apps for their clients. They work with companies of all sizes, from small startups to large enterprises. Their mantra, “create amazing experiences,” is applied internally for their employees and externally with their clients. And frankly, here at Wishlist we couldn’t love it any more.

Slice of Lime in the community: You may recognize the name from their involvement in the start up community. Slice of Lime has been involved with the renowned organization TechStars since the beginning. They have shared in mentoring, sponsoring and holding workshops for like-minded entrepreneurs. Their dedicated support for the start up community in Colorado is also apparent in the form of sponsorship; of Boulder Startup Week, Denver Startup Week, Venture Capital in the Rockies, Start Up Weekend Denver, and TedXMileHigh.

The Perks: The employees over at Slice of Lime have it pretty good. Good health care, flexible schedules, free parking passes… all that good stuff. But what Wishlist really cares about most is what makes your company culture unique.

What is more unique than slice-ness?! What the heck is that you ask… great question. This is the word Slice of Lime uses for above and beyond experiences inside the company from hanging out in the green room at Conan O’Brien to VIP suites at Avs games to high speed Go-carts at Unser Racing.

Below are some other cool employee perks that keep Slice of Lime’s company culture spicy:

-       An open budget on Amazon for learning purposes (books, magazines, etc.)

-       Two offices (Boulder and Denver) with flexible seating so you can work from                        wherever you want

-       Free eco-pass

-       Free snacks and…microbrews from a custom-made Slice of Lime tap

Recognition: We’re certainly not the first to notice the extraordinary things happening over at Slice of Lime. They have landed on Mecury’s 100 Fastest Growing Company List for the last 8 years. CEO, Kevin Menzie, says quite frankly, “We’re not in it for the awards.” The recognition they seek is from their clients, and the users who experience their work. Being your average user who did some consumer experience research myself, I am certainly quite impressed.

This creative, humble and collaborative team places an importance on a healthy life balance – which we couldn’t be more supportive of. If you work somewhere who you think has a unique company culture, and that puts high value on employee happiness, we want to hear about it. Share with us in the comments section below!
