Volunteerism is taking a new direction

Social issues, awareness, and personal involvement have never been more important than they are today.  Our country is reaching a defining point where major questions need to be asked and calculated actions taken; actions surrounding alternative energy, the economy, disease prevention, youth education, and homelessness to name a few.  Add to all of that the pointed desire of corporations to  display their social responsibility and increasing support needed by  non-profits, and you come away with a perfect opportunity for an  entrepreneurial foothold.  CitizenPoints.org and our founder, Peter Haid, have decided to approach a small but important piece of this defining time in America.  We believe our creative approach to track, reward, and bolster volunteerism will bring an entirely new segment of the American population into the important role  of ongoing servitude for our volunteer needs.

CitizenPoints, a 501C3 non-profit web company located near Denver, Colorado, offers a niche market solution to create a culture shift by incentivizing new volunteers with reward points and lifetime  tracking of their social impact. Volunteerism has yet to see the type of make-over we are proposing and we expect our idea to create some overdue conversations on volunteer resourcing. Our goal is to boost volunteerism by 2,000,000 people (1% nationally) in just five  years by specifically targeting people who don’t normally volunteer.  How do we do this you might ask?  You can keep reading or just watch the video below.

We first bring businesses and non-profits together in a mission-focused partnership and create points  based on the number of volunteer hours needed.  These points, managed through our easy to use app, are then offered up to volunteers (twenty points per hour) in exchange for their service at non-profit events.   While online, each volunteer can either donate these points back into circulation by choosing to support another non-profit or they can redeem the points for brand-leading gift cards.  Our high-tech, low-touch solution is scalable across many businesses and non-profit segments, with incredible value offered through “Social Return on Investment Statements” and mobile donation, event, and volunteer management consoles.

Would you like to help?  We are ready to go, but we need some folks to share this message.  Here are some options:

1.       Like our page on Facebook and LinkedIn

2.       Watch this 4 minute video and then share it on your own Facebook / LinkedIn feed (the annoying pop-up will be removed soon and mobile devices click here)

3.       Become a Supporter, Donor, and/or Fundraiser on the CitizenPoints Fundly page

With CitizenPoints we can surge some energy, fun, and positive momentum back into volunteerism.

All the best,

Peter Haid
