Boulder has an immense and ever so talented community of makers, movers, and shakers across a variety of industries. We are one of you, but have been frustrated by our options for working and collaborating. Downtown spaces are close to other creatives but we still felt isolated. Co-working spaces are great for collaborating but difficult when we needed a little privacy. None of these options were flexible enough for working artists or prototyping or the occasional event. We weren’t the only ones struggling to find the balance between the right energy and the right space, so we decided to take control of the situation.
The Studio Boulder, located in east Boulder, is a new kind of co-working space built around a vision of a diverse and wonderful space that can support businesses and artists.
The Studio Boulder is a collection of private workshops and offices contained within a greater collaborative, shared space. Behind the closed doors of our member’s spaces is where the work is done, but the public space has been designed to encourage creative collaboration. The Studio’s lounge, community kitchen, conference rooms – one of which will be inside a renovated vintage airstream trailer, and mezzanine host inspired discussions and foster potential collaboration and sharing of ideas. At any time of day members might choose to seclude themselves, open up the workspace to the rest of the community, or mingle with other members in the common areas.
The Studio Boulder is looking for creatives working across industries to be a part of our dynamic environment. Our current lineup includes an artist, a local filmmaker, a small nonprofit and an architect. With workshops, private offices and desks available The Studio Boulder would love to have the work you do inside our space.
The Studio Boulder is also going to be hosting Ted Salon events, killer parties, art shows and private events, so worry not our friends! Even if you’re not interested today in becoming a space member, we’d still love to have you over to be a part of our community!
