This year Denver Startup Week and the University of Denver's Project XITE will be hosting a pitch competition for any* young Denver company. Companies will pitch to a panel of "celebrity" judges and WIN the largest community built prize in DSW history.
Applications are open now until August 29th at midnight. Each submission will be segmented into an industry track. The semi-finalists will be chosen from the four industries with the highest quality submissions--three finalists from each industry. The 12 semi-finalists selected will present on Tuesday, September 13th and Wednesday September 14th. The finalist from each industry track will go onto the Denver Startup Week Grand Showcase Championship Pitch event.
Denver Startup Week is keeping the grand prize a secret, but promises it'll be worth it as the largest prize in the event's history.
Preliminary judges include industry professionals and successful entrepreneurs who will judge those submissions related to their own area of expertise. The Championship round will be judged by the "celebrity" panel--prominent members of the finance and startup communities.
Timeline:
August 29th @ 11:59pm: Applications close
September 1: Top 4 industry tracks chosen & semi-finalists notified
September 13 & 14: Preliminary pitch events
September 15: Championship pitch event
*To be eligible, companies must have received less than $5M in outside capital and have been in business less than 3 years. Companies must also be in the Denver Metropolitan Statistical Area.
