The pandemic may have halted hiring, product releases and other strategic initiatives for many businesses, but it’s been quite the opposite for the following three Denver companies.

Have they had to get a bit creative during a historically tough time?

Absolutely. Just ask FareHarbor, where employees compiled a list of endearing and unofficial national holidays to help tourist companies book more reservations.

But has it slowed them down? Nope.

At the adtech hub AdCellerant, employees have been heads down building a new tool from scratch to help channel sales partners sell, launch and run digital ad campaigns. Internally, the company also continues to grow, with positions available in marketing, operations and sales.

Meanwhile, last fall, TalentReef released a major integration to help hospitality employees find work via Facebook’s Jobs platform. TalentReef is also hiring, with open roles in engineering, sales and design.

So what’s next for these three? We’ll be eagerly standing by. In the meantime, check out more on each company below.

What they do: A contactless talent management platform, TalentReef provides recruitment, hiring, onboarding and training solutions for service industry businesses. The company was founded in 2008 and counts Flynn Restaurant Group (Applebee’s Grill + Bar and Taco Bell) and Huntington Hotel Group (Homewood Suites and Hilton Garden Inn) as clients.

Location: Denver, Central Business District

Unlocking new opportunities: In October 2020, TalentReef announced a new integration with Facebook’s Jobs platform. The partnership enabled Facebook users to find and apply for positions available on TalentReef directly from Facebook.

“TalentReef’s integration with Jobs on Facebook will give our customers a competitive advantage in this challenging labor market and bring a streamlined, mobile-optimized application experience to potential job seekers,” said TalentReef’s CEO Richard Crawford, in a statement.

What they do: AdCellerant’s advertising solutions span more than 60 products that offer small businesses the same access to digital ad technology as large businesses. Tools include programmatic, video and SEO, plus a new proposal platform that brings together sales, order and reporting processes in a single user interface.

Location: Denver, Golden Triangle

From monolith to microservices: In building out AdCellerant’s Proposal Tool, engineers chose to create the platform from scratch to be more API-driven and to include higher-performing technologies. This initiative jump started AdCellerant’s transition from a monolith architecture to a microservices-oriented one.

“We wanted to build a good foundation by which we could start productizing the data that even our own internal apps sit on top of for external APIs,” said James Humphrey, Senior Director of Technology.

What they do: FareHarbor’s online reservation system helps 13,000 companies manage tours and activities for travelers worldwide. From whale watching to bike rentals, beer tastings to kayaking, FareHarbor’s activities have something for everyone. The company launched in 2013 and, in addition to its Denver headquarters, has offices in Hawaii, Sydney and Amsterdam.

Location: Denver, Business District

Getting creative for clients: To help tour and activity companies come up with new ways to engage potential visitors during a pandemic, FareHarbor curated a list of quirky travel and tourism-related holidays for them to market. The list included “Take a Hike Day” on November 17, “Boating Day” on July 1, and “Pizza Party Day” on the third Friday in May.
