5 awesome Colorado tech events happening this week

Learn iOS Mobile App Development, January 18th at 6:15 p.m.

This 12-week, full-immersion class will take people with little to no experience in coding and teach them how to build iPhone apps using Swift. The class isn’t free, nor is it cheap at $6,000 — but if you want to know how to make your very own iPhone app without quitting your day job, this is a solid option.

4 Week Photography Course, January 18th at 6:30 p.m.

Learn the basics of photography and editing software with pro photographer Matt Lit. It turns out that learning to take stellar photos is a bit cheaper than learning to code iOS apps, but it’ll still cost you $220.

Why You Need Storytelling in Your Workplace, January 19th at 6 p.m.

This panel discussion of employee engagement experts will discuss the importance of storytelling in improving workplace performance. The event will feature wine, and presumably, some good stories.

TechrIot Meetup: Monetizing the Internet of Things, January 19th at 6 p.m.

Joseph Zaloker, Director of Technical Marketing at Arrow Electronics will be speaking about how to make some dough off your IoT device ideas. He’ll go through a checklist that every entrepreneur should consider before launching their product.

UX: Make Better Websites in 2016, January 19th at 6:30 p.m.

Denver’s Joomla User Group is dedicating their first meeting to creating better websites using the UX methodology. You’ll learn about the User Experience methodology and how to implement it in your web project.
