With over 2.2 Million downloads since the first release in 2010, iBrainstorm is being used by school districts around the world helping teachers and students to communicate, share and express their ideas in new and creative ways. The new release offers a complete redesign, adding many of the most requested features from users. These include:

  • The ability to freeform draw, add and organize notes as well as capture and share thoughts quickly.
  • Students can now share ideas with groups of four other “iBrainstormers” through iPad to iPad sharing. Simply toss information to share on other iPads.

  • Students can share projects with an entire classroom or share work with teachers.

  • Students have improved drawing quality with the Pencil by 53 stylus

  • The new release even incorporates the use of emoji’s, facilitating better communication between teacher and student by truly communicating in the students language.

“User Experience is a core practice at Universal Mind. Listening to user feedback is a key to achieve a good customer experience” said Joe Johnston, VP Experience Innovation. “We made hundreds of small changes based on user feedback. One of the new features our research uncovered was that teachers use a common set of learning templates. So we took those and added them to iBrainstorm to focus on organized, collaborative learning”.

iBrainstorm is a product of Universal Mind. Leveraging the experience Universal Mind gained working with large Education companies such as Pearson and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, they see iBrainstorm as an opportunity to give back to the community while also exploring new technologies. “Research and Development is an important part of our culture,” added Erik Loehfelm, EVP of User Experience at Universal Mind. “We build applications like iBrainstorm not only because we see a need in the marketplace, but also because it gives us a way to test new and emerging technologies and the entire app ecosystem”.
