As the inaugural gSchool Boulder class wraps up its final weeks, the students will head to the Galvanize campus in Denver on Wednesday August 6th to show off some of the individual and group projects they’ve been working on since early March. Twenty-four students will be completing gSchool’s 24 week immersive developer training program on August 21. Upon graduation from the program, all of the students will be Full-Stack Developers, skilled in Ruby, Rails, JS, CSS, git and developer workflow.
This class -- the third for gSchool -- had a number of remarkable milestones: it was the first class held at Galvanize’s new Boulder campus, and it also was it’s most diverse to date in terms of gender and age: almost half are women, and students range in age from 24 to 55.
gSchool Demos are open to the public, and are a great way to tap into new developer talent. As Galvanize’s campuses continue to expand to new locations, so too do gSchool program locations. In addition to another program in Boulder this Fall, gSchool is kicking off its first program in San Francisco at Galvanize’s SoMa campus. This San Francisco cohort will have the opportunity to be part of a unique partnership with the leading Software Development company, Pivotal Labs. After a rigorous 4 month core curriculum, students will engage in an apprenticeship with Pivotal Labs during which, they will gain real-world experience working on real Pivotal Labs contracts to deliver products to customers.
