These Tech Companies Opened Headquarters in Colorado in 2022

Tech brands from Delaware and California moved their headquarters to the Centennial State in 2022.

Whether tech companies were looking for a new city to move their headquarters or a location to open a second HQ, Colorado was a popular destination for many. Centrally located, the Centennial State has a bit of everything, including tech hubs in Denver and Boulder and stunning nature retreats to kick back on the weekends. 

As the most populous city in the state, Denver is home to large tech companies like Workiva and Handshake. Soon, many new tech startups will open offices in the city and across the state.

Over the course of the year, at least six tech startups established headquarters in Colorado. This article will be updated as more HQ announcements are made.

 

Smarter Sorting, which rebranded to SmarterX in early 2023, relocated from Austin to Boulder. SmarterX’s software and data insights platform helps retailers, suppliers and brands with data and guidance on environmental regulations, storage solutions, shipping best practices and more. 

 

HNA Live is a data and artificial intelligence company that works to optimize productivity at manufacturing facilities. It was originally headquartered in Delaware but announced in December it would relocate to Denver in Q1 of 2023. To fill the new HQ, HNA Live expects to create more than 36 new jobs in engineering, sales, executive and administrative positions with an average salary of $99,028. 

 

After raising $91 million in funding, AMP opened an 84,000-square-foot headquarters in Louisville. The new HQ will house several departments and help shorten fulfillment times for the company’s robotic systems that find and sort recyclable materials. AMP currently has several open tech roles listed on Built In

 

In October, Virta Health announced it was relocating its HQ and 400 employees from San Francisco to Denver. Virta Health is a telehealth platform that helps treat people with type 2 diabetes without the need for medications or surgery. Before announcing the move, the company ran a satellite office in the Mile High City. 

 

Nixplay makes smart photo frames that display images from a customers social media accounts. The company moved its headquarters to Denver in July, and it is now raising new capital. Before relocating to Denver, Nixplay was based in California. 

 

Naked Wines is based in Napa but announced plans to open a second headquarters in Denver in May. The company also planned to create 251 new jobs over the next eight years. Those new roles include software engineers, product managers and marketing experts. Naked Wines is a direct-to-consumer wine subscription service.
