AMP Opens New HQ Weeks After Raising Fresh Capital

Earlier this month, AMP closed a huge $91 million Series C round to fuel its international expansion. This week, the Louisville-based company opened a new corporate headquarters to keep up with customer demand for its products.

AMP develops robotic systems with artificial intelligence capabilities to identify and sort recyclable materials. Its AI systems train the robots to recognize brand labels, material patterns, textures and other features that signify an item can be recycled. The robot is then used to pick up the item and place it with other recyclable materials. According to the company, this is done at “superhuman speed” and is extremely accurate.

The company’s new 84,000-square-foot headquarters is located in Louisville and will houses employees that were previously occupying two facilities in Louisville and Broomfield that are now closed.

“It’s exciting to unify our local employees in this state-of-the-art space where we’ll incubate new ideas, flex our innovation muscle and manufacture — all under one roof,” Matanya Horowitz, founder and CEO of AMP, said in a statement. “We’re so pleased to be building our technology here in Colorado, where the state’s Advanced Industries Accelerator Grant program helped AMP get off the ground.”

AMP’s new HQ will house several departments, including the manufacturing and production of its recycling systems. With the new space, the company is hoping to shorten fulfillment times to ensure it can keep up with customer demand.

The new location will also house a research and development center that will develop and test new AI-powered automation to recognize and collect recyclable materials. Other AMP employees such as engineers, product managers and supply chain specialists will also occupy the new headquarters.

“This modern, inclusive and thoughtfully designed space fits the way we work with each other and endeavor to serve our customers with plenty of opportunity for teamwork and creativity,” Beth Dec, vice president of people for AMP, said in a statement.

AMP currently has several openings on Built In across its finance, data and analytics, operations and engineering teams
