About the Team

Launched in 2021, Fanatics Betting and Gaming is the online and retail sports betting subsidiary of Fanatics, a global digital sports platform. The Fanatics Sportsbook is available to 95% of the addressable online sports bettor market in the U.S. Fanatics Casino is currently available online in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Fanatics Betting and Gaming operates twenty-two retail sports betting locations, including the only sportsbook inside an NFL stadium at Northwest Stadium. Fanatics Betting and Gaming is headquartered in New York with offices in Denver, Leeds and Dublin.

Overview 

As a Trader I on the In-Play Team at Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG), you are here to help us create an entertaining betting proposition that appeals to Fanatics customers. 

Reporting into one of the Trading Managers, you will be an important team player and a key member of the in-play team with tasks including data analysis, building AI tooling, investigating persistent issues, and testing IP features. Whatever your background, keeping the customer and colleague experience at the heart of everything you do is vital to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee wider team of traders acting as a point of contact for all in-play issues 
  • Contribute to testing new sportsbook features and trading models, while providing feedback and collaborating with the wider team.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across the Trading department by assisting with automation/AI and identifying areas for advancement.
  • Support and collaborate with other Associate Traders within the Trading department, sharing knowledge and contributing to their development. 
  • Work closely with Commercial, Marketing, Quants, Product, Engineering, Sports and Operations teams to create and implement a best-in-class, intuitive, and scalable betting experience for our customers - driven by data, user research, and competitor analysis.
  • Ensure that Fanatics are putting the customer at the heart of our Trading strategies.
  • Leveraging strong sports/math knowledge to implement strategies to improve in-play trading goals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), or currently pursuing one.
  • A real passion for sport, and an inherent understanding of what sports fans want to be entertained.
  • Ability to understand and interpret data, translating that data into probabilities.
  • Strong understanding of live odds movement, market efficiency, and expected value. 
  • Preference to work in an entrepreneurial, hyper-growth environment where decisions are made quickly.
  • Team-first mentality, with a willingness to do what it takes to get the job done and effectively work cross-functionally across different teams at FBG and the larger Fanatics organization.
  • Willingness to ask questions, learn, and solve problems independently.
  • A flexible work schedule will be required, including some evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
  • This role is based in our Denver, USA office and requires you to be in office 5 days a week.

Ranges will change based on country and state of residence, which are reflected in Geographical Zones defined by Fanatics Betting and Gaming. The range incorporates all of our Geographical Compensation Zones and is subject to change as the Zone associated with the actual offer is confirmed.
