- Manages employees and first-level managers and supervisors performing activities within multiple operations disciplines.
- Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures.
- Provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals and objectives.
- Responsible for the safe and efficient operations of the Production, Process Engineering, Test Engineering, and Facilites departments. Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management and leads process improvements.
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
- Coordinates shift and production run changes to ensure on-time delivery of good quality products.
- Participates in manpower requirements planning and overtime scheduling. Integrates all operations engineering changes into production. Develops ramp-up plans for launching programs.
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
- Leads, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers and supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Technical or business degree in Engineering or relevant technical field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with a minimum of 8 years of experience in vehicle assembly.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience coaching, guiding and mentoring cross-functional teams.
- Minimum of 7 year of experience with Quality Management Systems and or Shop Floor Control Systems.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience using lean manufacturing and/or continuous improvement practices and tools in the workplace
- Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime
- Able to multi-task on several fronts to meet Business Plan objectives. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing operation systems (ERP, MES, etc.). Strong math skills with the ability to apply to costs and analyze data
- Strong listening, communication (verbal and written), and presentation skills. Attention to detail and exceptional planning and organizational skills. Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and with a variable workload (flexible hours)
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Automotive and EV systems - 5 years
- Magna professional experience in one of Magna's operating regions - 5 years
- Experience is greenfield operations and launch of new programs
