KBR is seeking a Narrowband SATCOM Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide on-site support to Headquarters Space Operations Command on Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO..

A strong candidate has a comprehensive knowledge of Narrowband satellite communication systems, satellite transmissions, management, satellite system control, and operational procedures. In this position, you will:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide requirements, operations, sustainment, and engineering technical analysis and support for Narrowband SATCOM systems
  • Provide technical information on required capabilities for documentation in Initial Capabilities Document, Capability Needs Statements, User Agreements, etc.
  • Review, coordinate, and advise on SATCOM operating processes and procedures and provide technical support of material system development and fielding.
  • Provide technical operational/engineering expertise for resolution of operational issues/problems related to space, ground and terminal segments.
  • Develop and interpret broad DOD Space, and Satellite communications policies and regulations, existing policies, and regulations in relation to HQ USSF program goals and objectives.
  • Provide analysis and recommended methods for improving efficiency of satellite communications functions through modifications and applications of evolving technology, developing tactics, techniques, and procedures.
  • Analyze technical functions of satellite payloads and ground station architectures.
  • Travel may be required for limited durations to support Customer events.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • An active TS/SCI clearance is required, which is something only a U.S. can obtain however, lapsed clearances may be considered.
  • BA/BS Degree.
  • 5 plus years of SATCOM Narrowband operational experience (e.g.UFO, MUOS).
  • Experience within a major headquarters staff, Navy Satellite Operations Centers, Consolidated SATCOM System Expert or Regional SATCOM Support Center expertise, Satellite Operations Squadron.
  • Experience with providing strategic advice, technical guidance, analysis and recommendations.
  • Ability to multi-task and produce high-quality products in a high-tempo, collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Accustomed to professionally working with internal and external senior leaders, offices, directorates, and action officers.
  • The ability to work in a secure, confined location (i.e., SCIF).

Desired:

  • Headquarters experience in the US Space Force, US Air Force, Combatant Command, Space Operations Command, Space Systems Command or equivalent.
  • Experience with Joint- or Service-level strategy and/or concept development.
  • Experience with Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) processes.
  • Enterprise Task Management Tool proficiency.

Work Environment:

  • Location: On-site
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%
  • Working Hours: Standard

Scheduled Weekly Hours:

40hrs

Basic Compensation:

$125,000 - $140,000

This range is for Colorado only.

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
