Job Overview

ABC Legal is looking for a full-time, remote DevOps Engineer to be embedded in AWS as part of a small, hands-on development team. We’re looking for someone with deep, confident AWS expertise across a wide range of areas, including networking and systems, who sees DevOps as more than keeping infrastructure running. You’ll also support development work as it moves through our AWS environments. If you’re self-motivated, enjoy difficult, far-reaching problems, and want to use a lot of skills rather than stay in one lane, you’ll have the opportunity to take on as much as you want.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be embedded in AWS, owning the different environments hosted there across networking, systems, and the wider range of AWS services
  • Handle DevOps as an area of expertise: not only caring for AWS infrastructure, but also the development tasks as they move through AWS
  • Write scripts that automate and simplify DevOps work
  • Partner with the development team’s day to day, and with infrastructure and IT where their work overlaps
  • Follow established patterns while contributing ideas as the team adjusts its plan based on collective input
  • Help the team work out how to put AI to practical use in its day-to-day work

Required Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and expertise in AWS technologies, with confidence across a wide range of AWS areas, including networking and systems
  • Mid-level experience of roughly 3–5 years; you don’t need to be senior, but some experience helps
  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in computer science or engineering
  • An engineering mindset and strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to follow patterns, take input, and stay flexible
  • Responsive and willing to engage

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong Linux knowledge
  • Good scripting skills, including Bash on Linux and Python, with the ability to write scripts that help with DevOps work

Benefits

  • Health, Dental, Vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company matching
  • Paid time off
  • 7 Paid company holidays
  • 4 Floating holidays per-year
  • Life Insurance and AD&D Insurance
  • Long Term Disability
  • Health Care Reimbursement Flexible Spending Account
  • Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account
  • EAP (Employee Assistance Program)
  • Pet Insurance

Salary Range: The compensation range for this role is $130,000–$150,000 depending on experience.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, remote
