KBR is seeking a Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) SME to join our team at Schriever SFB.  Active TS/SCI clearance required.

The WGS SME provides expert technical assistance, analysis, and informal training related to the WGS satellites and the Global SATCOM Configuration Control Element (GSCCE).

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible WGS and GSCCE expert.

  • Informs/Advises system operators on enterprise-scale SATCOM. 

  • Exhibits exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness in SATCOM operations and maintenance.

  • Provides technical information and analysis concerning WGS and GSSCE operations.

  • Participates in technical meetings, working groups, analysis, and reporting tasks as required.

  • Coordinates and consolidates integration and test efforts.

  • Leads troubleshooting efforts and resolves problems.

  • Supports major GSCCE system updates and configuration rollouts.

  • Analyzes and resolves difficult and complicated program support deficiencies.

  • Conducts independent technical assessment of systems design.

  • Performs as the primary contract technical liaison with contractor technical experts, representatives of other contractors, and U.S. Government personnel.

  • Leads or participates in spacecraft operations support, analysis, and reporting.

  • Develops technical documentation and procedures for installation, maintenance, operation, troubleshooting and repair of equipment in accordance with technical specifications, program requirements, and quality standards.

  • Supports informal training related to the WGS satellite and the GSCCE.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS degree and 8+ years of experience, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.

Citizenship and Clearance:

  • US Citizen

  • Active Top Secret security clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI is required.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Five years of system design experience, including hardware/software integration.

  • Ten years of directly related experience in SATCOM is required.

  • Applies advanced knowledge of WGS to achieve customer requirements associated with operations and sustainment of the WSOMS network and the GSCCE.

  • Able to troubleshoot and resolve problems independently and in high pressure situations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced understanding and ability to troubleshoot WGS satellite and the GSCCE.

  • Demonstrates exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness in SATCOM operations and maintenance.

SCHEDULED WEEKLY HOURS:

  • Normal hours of operation (0730–1630 hours).

  • 40 hours, 5 days a week.

TRAVEL:

  • May require travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations, expect approximately 10%.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Basic Compensation:

$129,800 - $162,200

This range is for the CO area only.

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s work location, knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience, clearance level, contract affordability and in consideration of internal parity.

 

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
