SUMMARY
The Vice President, Indirect Procurement is a key member of the Spectrum Procurement Leadership Team, reporting directly to the SVP, Strategic Procurement. This is a fast-paced, high-expectation seat: the team leading Spectrum's ~$10B indirect spend portfolio has already transformed how the function operates, and the VP must be able to keep pace from day one, sustaining well-informed, data-driven decision-making, rigorous risk management, and a track record of delivering significant, measurable value to the business nationally.
HOW THE VICE PRESIDENT, INDIRECT PROCUREMENT MAKES AN IMPACT
This position leads Spectrum's Indirect Procurement spend categories, with annual spend of ~$10B across software/technology, telecommunications, contingent labor, professional services, HR benefits and insurance, training, uniforms, physical security services, and sales & marketing. The role sets strategic sourcing direction in partnership with BU stakeholders and leads the team responsible for Indirect Procurement.
  • Exploit critical savings opportunities by leveraging company-wide purchasing volume, advising business lines on opportunities that enhance profitability.
  • Strategic Sourcing Execution:
    • Lead complex strategy development, negotiations, and robust supply agreements
    • Champion well-informed, data-driven decision-making across the function, using AI and advanced tools where they add value
    • Develop deep, long-term partnerships with strategic suppliers to improve quality, lead times, responsiveness, and innovation
    • Establish communication plans on procurement activities for key stakeholders
    • Develop creative solutions to complex sourcing and business challenges
  • Attract, develop, mentor, and retain top talent, with clear performance measurement and continuous feedback for each direct report.
  • Lead and elevate an already high-performing, AI-ready team, sustaining a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders and stay actively involved in company initiatives, ensuring strategic sourcing input is embedded in major corporate decisions.
  • Mitigate supply chain risk - geopolitical, tariff, supplier-concentration, cyber, and disruption - by developing and managing risk mitigation strategies in close collaboration with Spectrum stakeholders, business units, and suppliers.
  • Identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives that deliver year-over-year reductions in total sourcing spend.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10+ years as a senior procurement leader with a demonstrated track record of delivering significant, measurable value at pace - currently operating as a Head of Procurement or a regional/national VP - within national or global sourcing and cost management at a publicly traded company.
  • Proven ability to operate within a high-performing, already-mature procurement organization - quickly earning credibility and sustaining momentum, rather than needing to build capability from the ground up.
  • 5+ years in a management/executive leadership role, with proven people-management skills: hiring, developing, coaching, delegating, and succession planning.
  • Demonstrated strength in both strategic thinking and operational execution, including building new sourcing approaches from the ground up.
  • High commercial and financial acumen, with the gravitas to influence at the Management Committee level and build strong cross-functional relationships with Finance and business teams.
  • Seasoned negotiator with a track record of complex, multi-million-dollar deals; skilled at navigating high-pressure situations with diplomacy and sound judgment; strong partner to third-party procurement service providers.
  • Strong communicator, able to translate complex procurement and sourcing issues clearly for suppliers, peers, and senior leadership.
  • Sharp analytical and strategic instincts, with a clear, calm approach under pressure.
  • High cultural awareness and a track record of building strong relationships across a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders.

The base pay for this position generally is between
$195,200.00 and $325,400.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
