GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Patient Digital Next is the team helping DaVita model the way for patient care. Our team guides the web and mobile technology direction for patient-facing applications.

As the IT Senior Application Development Manager, you will play a key role in leading and mentoring teams who are tasked with designing, building, testing, deploying, supporting, and standardizing on building highly functional teams within DaVita IT. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of managing agile scrum development teams and working with diverse business partners and the ability to juggle multiple concurrent large complex cross functional projects. You must possess strong Project Management skills along with excellent people management, time management, decision-making, problem solving, presentation, documentation, planning, and organization skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for managing and executing projects within the Patient Digital Next organization, which is our patient-facing application.
  • Lead, mentor and grow a team of scrum masters, software engineers and QA/support by identifying and communicating team goals, identify areas of strength and weaknesses for continuous improvement
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
  • Support career development, performance management, and hiring for technical roles.
  • Manage vendor relationships and technical integrations with third-party.
  • Partner with Product, Scrum Master, Technical leads to ensure velocity, resource allocation, backlog health, and user experience.
  • Guide technical decision making and architecture in collaboration with technical leads and architects.
  • Ensure adoption of modern development practices, including DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and observability.
  • Strong focus on process optimization and efficiency, with a proven ability to identify root causes and drive effective solutions through to completion.
  • Possess a strong product mindset and a deep understanding of user behavior, with the ability to intuitively navigate websites, identify user experience gaps, and determine how functionality should work.
  • Some level of technical understanding of custom build applications on GCP
  • Work with scrum masters, product managers, project managers, architects, QA, Operations, service desk, and development teams to assure flawless execution of IT projects
  • Develops a deep knowledge of all aspects of the program, helps define priorities and effectively manages planning, execution, and monitoring to successful conclusion.
  • Continuously monitors program performance and takes strategic steps to keep the project on track and aligned with deliverables.
  • Identify project risk and mitigation plans to minimize impact on deliverables.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, budget, releases, quality, and resources in order to keep the project on track.
  • Effectively communicate and escalate program status to all key stakeholders and team members.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A passion for digital transformation
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience as a Senior Project Manager and/or Senior Application Development Manager
  • 5+ years of successful management and solution delivery of cross-functional projects and programs
  • Strong project management and delivery process/methodology and project management tool experience (e.g. Gitlab, JIRA, Confluence, Excel, Smartsheets & Apptio Target Process).
  • Strong professional experience in Agile development and project management
  • Highly competent in product delivery life cycles and methods to optimize the life cycle for project needs via use of best practices
  • Strong technical aptitude for custom build applications on GCP and hands on experience working with technical teams
  • Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with high emotional quotient
  • Mastery of tracking and managing multiple projects working with a variety of cross-functional resources.

Also:

  • Adept at creating strong relationships that foster the spirit of innovation, improvement, and collaborative solutions and developments.
  • Ability to quickly grasp technology concepts and communicate with external teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and an iterative design process.
  • Knowledge of other SDLC methodologies approaches such as Agile, CICD, SaFE, CDD, Kanban, etc.
  • Healthcare industry experience is a plus

The Salary Range for the role is $110,100.00 - $161,700.00 per year.
