A little bit about our team:
Warner Music’s Center of Excellence for Shared Services, opened in 2017 and is the home to the financial, legal and administrative functions that provide critical support and best-in-class services to our US Recorded Music and Publishing businesses. The Nashville center embodies the innovative and creative spirit that stems from the company’s deep history in nurturing entrepreneurial thinking and artist-focused innovation, enabling our employees to develop a wide range of skills through cross-function collaboration and development opportunities.
The Finance department is responsible for managing all the center’s accounting and cash management functions. As a critical component of the Finance department, the Accounting Operations group provides accounting services and support to WMG’s corporate finance, US record labels and US publishing business.

The Senior Manager of Accounting RTR is responsible for the monthly close process and al aspects of Corporate general ledger accountining for WMG They will liase between the corporate leadership team and COE Corporate accounting teams onshore and offshore.
General Accounting – responsible for general ledger accounting, including monthly close, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounting, Consolidations, and Asset accounting.
Work with team to complete submission to corporate and review of related schedules submitted to
Corporate in conjunction with the monthly/quarterly financials
Liaise with internal and external auditors, and ensure compliance with SOX requirements including drafting and updating process narratives, and maintenance of requirement documentation
Reporting and analytics – responsible for reporting and analytics as needed.
Job Description:
Manage the day-to-day execution of monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close activities, ensuring close deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
Coordinate team priorities, establish clear ownership and accountability, and monitor the timely completion of close-related activities.
Review complex accounting analyses, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting schedules prepared by team members.
Analyze financial results and reconciliation differences and investigate significant or unusual items impacting financial reporting.
Manage key corporate accounting processes, including cash, intercompany, fixed assets, and other assigned accounting areas, in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
Research accounting matters and document accounting treatments for acquisitions and other transactions, including maintaining supporting reconciliations and tracking related accounting activities through completion.
Review and maintain S/4-to-HFM mapping tables, identify and communicate mapping issues, and track issue logs to support process improvements and streamline close activities.
Manage, coach, and develop Senior Accountants and offshore team members, providing ongoing feedback and guidance.
Develop and maintain SOPs, process documentation, and training materials for accounting and close-related activities to support consistent and effective execution of processes.
Coordinate internal and external audit, tax, and other compliance-related requests and ensure timely completion of supporting documentation.
Review SOX controls and related documentation for assigned accounting processes and assist with addressing identified control or process issues.
Administer BlackLine activities for Corporate Accounting, including maintaining and updating close-related tasks and finding opportunities to improve the use of BlackLine and automate close activities.
Evaluate existing accounting processes and see opportunities to simplify and standardize recurring activities.
Maintain strong working relationships with business unit finance teams and other partners while supporting cross-functional initiatives and special projects as needed.
Ensure effective financial internal controls; identify and remediate control gap
Special projects as requested by business units and corporate
Apply Blackline to automate and monitor closing tasks for area of oversight, and ensure compliance with leadership initiatives related to Blackline.
Ad hoc analysis and projects
Required Competencies/Skills:
BA/BS in Accounting, Masters’s of Accounting a plus
7+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role
Financial Shared services and/our outsourcing experience a plus
10K schedule support experience
Fixed Asset and Lease accounting experience
Experience with Intercompany accounting, consolidations, and Foreign currency translations
Large, multinational company experience a plus
Driver of “change”, and thinks creatively and strategically
Strong understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
Experience in strong communication and strategy presentation
Strong leader with experience managing a team of accountants
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
A “Process First” mindset, understanding that the software only works if the underlying workflow is clean
Demonstrated professional maturity with unquestioned personal and business integrity
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
CPA a plus
Technical Experience Required:

HFM familiarity
Blackline experience
