Social Media Engagement Strategist

About your role: 

We’re looking for a Social Media Engagement Strategist to grow Givelify’s organic social presence through audience-first content and authentic community engagement. You’ll own our social content from idea to publish, uncover stories worth telling, and build relationships that strengthen our community. 

Your team: 

The Social Media team at Givelify is collaborative and results-driven, working closely with the content, marketing, and creative teams to develop and execute social media strategies that drive impact. You will report to the Social Media Manager. 

The Social Media Engagement Strategist will get to: 

KPI 1: Reach 

  • Own the social content process from ideation through publishing, ensuring every piece supports business goals and audience needs. 
  • Develop audience-first content strategies and creative briefs informed by insights, platform best practices, and campaign goals. 
  • Partner with internal teams and external organizations and community advocates, to uncover and craft stories worth telling. 

KPI 2: Engagement Rate 

  • Create audience-first content that sparks conversation, encourages sharing, and builds community. 
  • Blend compelling content with authentic engagement across comments, direct messages, and owned communities. 
  • Use social listening, audience research, and community engagement to understand what people care about and why. 

KPI 3: New Followers 

  • Create content and engagement strategies that turn new audiences into loyal followers. 
  • Identify opportunities to engage with creators, organizations, and communities aligned with Givelify’s mission. 
  • Measure audience growth, test new ideas, and continuously improve follower acquisition. 

To be successful in this role, you’ll also: 

  • Plan and execute monthly and quarterly campaigns aligned with business goals and audience insights.  
  • Use AI to accelerate research, planning, and execution. 
  • Own opportunities to delight organizations and donors through original, engagement-boosting comments (you know how to use AI prompts to generate comments for efficiency, but you genuinely enjoy interacting with our audiences through social comments).  
  • Monitor and share digital and industry trends and best practices. 
  • Summarize key themes and shifts in sentiment to inform future content direction and engagement strategies.  
  • Report on effectiveness, key performance indicators and value delivered per campaign/projects. Surface actionable insights to refine content strategy and drive stronger outcomes.  
  • Navigate high-visibility conversations with empathy, sound judgment, and professionalism, including responding to negative feedback and public conflict. 
  • Build and manage community spaces, like Facebook Groups, where our target audience can connect. This includes sharing helpful content, starting conversations, and creating a space where donors and organizations engage with us and with one another. 

Your experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (preferred)   
  • 3–5 years creating high-performing social media content and managing online communities. 
  • A portfolio highlighting some of your best work (please include password) 
  • Proficiency with Sprout Social, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube   
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft engaging and authentic social media comments  and content captions 
  • Experience with social media analytics and reporting tools   
  • Experience in project management software like Asana, Notion, Airtable, JIRA etc   
  • Experience in sales (preferred)
