Ciena is seeking a delivery-focused Services Project Manager to lead customer engagements and service delivery projects across the United States East Coast region. This role drives project execution across the full delivery lifecycle while aligning customer commitments, operational objectives, and financial outcomes. Success in this position comes from coordinating cross-functional teams, managing project complexity, and delivering consistent customer results.

How you will make an impact:

• Lead customer-facing service delivery projects across the full project lifecycle.

• Coordinate project scope, schedules, milestones, resources, and execution activities.

• Implement communication plans and provide project status updates, risk visibility, and resolution tracking.

• Conduct risk assessments and execute mitigation plans throughout project delivery.

• Chair customer and internal project meetings to communicate progress, issues, and delivery outcomes.

• Monitor project execution against scope, resource utilization, budget expectations, and delivery commitments.

• Interface with customers, engineering teams, sales, bid management, service delivery groups, partners, and finance teams to achieve project and business objectives.

The must haves:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.

• Experience: 3–5 years of experience in Service Delivery, Project Management, Service Coordination, or a relevant industry.

• Utilization of project management tools.

• Application of network lifecycle activities including design, deployment, migration, and validation.

• Background in optical transport and networking environments including DWDM and L0/L1 technologies.

• Experience interacting with customers, cross-functional delivery teams, and engineering resources.

• Demonstrated influencing and collaboration across multiple teams.

Nice to haves:

• Certifications: PRINCE2 certification preferred.

• Certifications: PMP certification preferred.

• Application of effort estimation, cost drivers, and delivery risk evaluation.

• Background contributing to commercially sound decisions during presales and delivery activities.

• Experience working in matrix environments with multiple stakeholders.

• Outstanding planning, scheduling, and coordination skills.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Pay Range:

The salary range for this role, in the USA, is $79,900.00 -$ !27,700.00 USD.

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
