Motive is seeking a Senior Security Technical Program Manager to drive execution of the Security & Privacy Roadmap and other high-priority security risk-reduction programs. You will turn complex security and privacy goals into sequenced, measurable plans; align Security, Product, Engineering, Privacy, Legal, and business partners; and make risks, dependencies, resourcing needs, and decisions visible to executives. You will play a central role in quarterly security planning and in preparing clear, evidence-based, board-ready updates. This role is well suited to a hands-on program leader who can move between technical detail and executive narrative—and who measures success by durable risk reduction and shipped outcomes, not activity alone.
What You’ll Do:- Own roadmap execution: Maintain the integrated Security & Privacy Roadmap from intake and prioritization through delivery and operational handoff. Clarify scope, accountable owners, milestones, dependencies, decision points, and success measures across concurrent initiatives.
- Drive risk-reduction programs: Lead cross-functional execution of major security programs, which may include identity and access management, authorization, vulnerability remediation, auditability, data protection and retention, privacy controls, and security assurance. Keep work tied to explicit risks and customer or business outcomes.
- Lead quarterly planning: Coordinate planning inputs, capacity and sequencing discussions, prioritization trade-offs, and commitments. Surface gaps early, distinguish committed work from aspirational work, and bring options and recommendations to decision-makers.
- Establish operating rigor: Run effective program reviews and maintain concise plans, RAID logs, decision records, and dashboards. Track leading indicators and delivery milestones; escalate blockers with clear impact, owner, and recommended next step.
- Prepare executive and board materials: Develop accurate, board-ready narratives and presentations that explain the risk, why it matters, progress against commitments, measurable outcomes, material changes, and decisions or investments required. Validate claims and metrics with accountable teams.
- Build strong partnerships: Align technical and nontechnical stakeholders, facilitate decisions when priorities conflict, and communicate with clarity at levels ranging from engineers to senior executives.
- Improve the system: Identify recurring delivery, governance, or measurement gaps and improve the security program operating model so teams can execute predictably and demonstrate control effectiveness.
- 7+ years of experience leading complex technical programs, with meaningful experience in cybersecurity, product security, privacy, or a closely related risk-management domain.
- A track record of delivering multi-team programs across engineering and business functions, including work with senior leaders and teams that do not report to you.
- Strong program-management fundamentals: integrated plans, dependency and critical-path management, risk and issue resolution, capacity planning, change control, and outcome-based reporting.
- Ability to understand security architecture and control objectives well enough to ask precise questions, identify delivery and risk gaps, and translate technical details into business impact—without needing to be the hands-on implementer.
- Excellent executive writing and presentation skills; experience producing concise leadership updates or board-level materials grounded in verified evidence.
- Demonstrated an AI first mindset in executing programs vs manually chasing teams to get things done.
- Sound judgment in prioritizing risk, surfacing uncomfortable trade-offs, and balancing urgency, customer impact, compliance needs, and delivery capacity.
- A collaborative, low-ego approach and the ability to create accountability through influence, structure, and clear communication.
- Experience in a SaaS or technology company with complex products, customer data, and cross-functional security ownership.
- Familiarity with security and privacy programs such as IAM and authorization, vulnerability management, data lifecycle controls, incident remediation, audit readiness, or privacy engineering.
- Experience defining program metrics, risk indicators, control evidence, and executive dashboards.
- Roadmap initiatives have clear scope, accountable owners, realistic milestones, dependencies, and measurable risk or customer outcomes.
- Quarterly commitments are prioritized against capacity; material delivery risks and decision needs are raised early, not at the deadline.
- High-priority security programs deliver agreed milestones and demonstrable risk reduction, with exceptions and residual risk explicitly documented.
- Leadership and board updates are timely, concise, consistent with source evidence, and decision-ready.
- Cross-functional partners have a reliable operating cadence and clear visibility into status, trade-offs, and next actions.
