About the Role 

We are seeking a Salesforce Senior Developer to support mission-critical Salesforce implementations for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). In this role, you will help lead the modernization and enhancement of enterprise systems that support call center operations, case management, and business process tracking across multiple VA departments. 

Our teams deliver solutions leveraging Salesforce Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Omni-Channel routing, and Knowledge to enable efficient, scalable, and user-centered service delivery for Veterans and internal stakeholders. Depending on the engagement, you may also support Platform-only implementations focused on workflow automation, data management, and operational reporting. 

You will work within an Agile and DevSecOps environment alongside developers, administrators, architects, QA engineers, and product owners to design, build, and deliver secure and scalable solutions. This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders to translate mission needs into technical solutions that improve service delivery and operational efficiency. 

In addition, we are increasingly leveraging AI-driven capabilities within Salesforce. The ideal candidate will have experience or strong interest in configuring and applying Salesforce Agentforce and related AI tools to enable intelligent automation, improve case handling, and enhance user and agent experiences. You will contribute to identifying practical AI use cases and implementing them in alignment with enterprise standards and governance. 

Responsibilities 

• Lead Salesforce development efforts in partnership with architects, product owners, administrators, QA engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, mission-focused solutions. 
• Design and develop advanced Apex, Lightning Web Components, Platform Events, integrations, reusable services, and automation patterns that support complex enterprise requirements. 
• Lead the design and implementation of REST APIs, event-driven architecture, asynchronous processing, Change Data Capture, and enterprise integration patterns across Salesforce, MuleSoft, Azure, and other connected systems. 
• Provide technical leadership for Salesforce Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Omni-Channel, Knowledge, and Platform-only implementations supporting case management, call center operations, workflow automation, reporting, and business process tracking. 
• Guide the implementation of Data Cloud capabilities, including data ingestion, harmonization, unification, segmentation, activation, and data quality controls to support trusted enterprise insights and AI-enabled use cases. 
• Lead Agentforce, Einstein, Prompt Builder, and related AI solution design by identifying practical automation opportunities, defining agent actions and guardrails, and ensuring solutions align with enterprise governance, privacy, and security standards. 
• Establish and enforce development standards for secure, scalable, testable code, including bulk-safe Apex, governor-limit optimization, automated testing, code quality, documentation, and deployment readiness. 
• Lead technical planning, backlog refinement, solution design, estimation, and implementation sequencing within Agile and DevSecOps delivery teams. 
• Oversee CI/CD and release management practices using tools such as Git, Salesforce DevOps Center, Copado, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jira, and related deployment automation. 
• Conduct and facilitate code reviews, design reviews, unit testing, integration testing, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and defect resolution for complex Salesforce solutions. 
• Identify and remediate technical debt, security gaps, integration risks, data model issues, and scalability constraints across existing Salesforce implementations. 
• Mentor mid-level and junior developers, promote engineering best practices, and help raise team capability in modern Salesforce development, Data Cloud, Agentforce, AI, integration, and DevSecOps practices. 
• Serve as a senior technical subject matter expert, communicating solution tradeoffs, risks, dependencies, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, including senior-level work on complex, enterprise-scale implementations. 
• Strong expertise in Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, Salesforce data modeling, Flow, platform automation, integrations, testing, and secure coding practices. 
• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events, Change Data Capture, asynchronous processing, event-driven solutions, and integrations with MuleSoft, Azure, and enterprise systems. 
• Experience supporting Salesforce Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Omni-Channel, Knowledge, case management, call center, workflow automation, reporting, and Platform-focused implementations. 
• Knowledge of Data Cloud concepts and implementation patterns, including ingestion, identity resolution, harmonization, segmentation, activation, governance, and data stewardship. 
• Experience or strong working knowledge of Agentforce, Einstein, Prompt Builder, AI agent actions, AI governance, trust-layer concepts, and responsible AI implementation patterns within Salesforce. 
• Strong understanding of OAuth, API security, sharing models, permission sets, profiles, record-level security, privacy, compliance, and secure integration design. 
• Experience with version control, CI/CD, release management, and DevSecOps tools such as Git, Salesforce DevOps Center, Copado, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and Jira. 
• Proven ability to lead technical design discussions, mentor developers, conduct code reviews, estimate work, resolve complex defects, and communicate technical recommendations effectively. 
• Strong problem-solving, leadership, collaboration, and written and verbal communication skills. 

Preferred Qualifications

• Salesforce Platform Developer I required; Platform Developer II strongly preferred. 
• Additional certifications such as JavaScript Developer I, AI Associate, Agentforce Specialist, Data Cloud Consultant, MuleSoft Developer, or Salesforce Administrator are preferred. 
• Experience working with Federal agencies or regulated environments is a plus. 
• Military-experienced candidates are encouraged to apply. 
• Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. 
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
