Job Description:
Job Functions, Essential Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Advanced experience in manual testing techniques, methodologies, testing tools and best practices.
- A team player who actively participates, coordinates, and contributes to all Agile ceremonies.
- Define testing strategies for complex initiatives.
- Collaborates with Software Development Engineer in Test and Software Engineers on developing an effective Testing Strategy.
- Solid understanding on how to create and execute on functional, cross browser, exploratory, security, regression, edge-case and integration testing as required.
- Ability to create metrics related to testing results and defects.
- Continuously demonstrates the pursuit of knowledge of systems, architecture, products and industry by
attending classes/seminars, reading articles on technical websites and listening to technical podcasts. - Supports Implementations to Production.
- Utilizes TFS or Jira to create scenarios, execute tests, and log defects based on user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Reviews and provides feedback to the team on testability of user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Shares knowledge of business processes and databases with Quality Analysts and Engineers and other team members.
- Provides documentation and supports client User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scenarios.
- Advanced understanding of how to set up test Data for software test execution.
Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Business-related field.
- Business experience in the financial or retirement industry.
- Strong hands-on experience in quality assurance.
- Experienced with Agile philosophy and frameworks.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL skills to perform CRUD operations as well as multi table joins.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with clear, concise technical writing style.
- Problem Solving/Analytical Skills.
- Critical thinking and the ability to lead as part of a problem-solving group. Desire to learn automation scripting and debugging.
- Ability to lead and mentor others in quality assurance practices.
- Lead researching of new tools, processes, best practices and build consensus across the discipline to implement.
- Ability to swarm on user stories and assist in others disciplines on the scrum team.
- Experience using Web Services testing tools such as SOAP UI, Boomerang and/or Swagger API Endpoint testing.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with Mobile App Testing.
- Exposure to automation scripting and debugging.
- Certified associate in software Testing (CAST)
