As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering within Optum Technology, you will lead and mentor platform engineering teams dedicated to VPay applications and shared services. In this role, you will drive platform engineering strategy, architecture standards, and modernization initiatives, combining hands-on technical guidance with strategic people management. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across Product, Architecture, Security, and Infrastructure to design and deploy scalable, cloud-native .NET solutions that support business-critical payment platforms and operations. - Manage technical debt reduction, vulnerability remediation, and platform stability improvements
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security, privacy, and regulatory requirements
- Lead release planning, production support, incident management, and operational excellence efforts

Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with solid expertise in C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET, and API development
- 5+ years of engineering leadership experience managing software development teams
- Experience with SQL Server, distributed systems, performance optimization, and observability tools
- Solid experience with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS), Kubernetes, Docker, microservices, and cloud-native architectures
- Solid knowledge of secure software development, application security, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Deep understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and platform engineering principles
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience; Master's degree
- Experience leading large-scale modernization and digital transformation initiatives in an enterprise environment
- Experience utilizing approved AI tools or modern productivity platforms to enhance software engineering workflows
- Proven excellent communication, stakeholder management, and strategic planning skills
