Job Description:

Application Engineer shall be a member of the Applications team in Microchip’s Security and Computing Group responsible for:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and improve embedded firmware for Secure Computing products.
  • Assist in onboarding customers with secure Platform Root Of Trust devices by providing technical expertise and guidance.
  • Experience in system understanding, Hardware integration testing, system integration and troubleshooting.
  • Handle customer clarifications, deliver technical demos, and present solutions effectively to prospective and existing customers.
  • Manage and resolve customer issues through Salesforce ticketing system while ensuring timely communication and support.
  • Contribute to internal development efforts related to secure Platform Root Of Trust devices
  • Testing embedded firmware for Secure computing products.
  • Work with multi-site cross-functional teams.
  • Develop customer application notes to support product adoption.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with 5 to 7.5 years of experience in firmware development & testing for embedded systems, microprocessors, and microcontrollers.
  • The candidate should be very strong in C programming in an embedded environment.
  • Experience in writing scripts in python.
  • Experience in Basic Crypto and Security algorithms is preferrable.
  • Experience with ARM Architecture, Linux and command line build tools (preferred)
  • Experience in Chromium EC firmware / Zephyr Project experience is preferrable.
  • This position is for individual with Hands on and for individual contributor role.
  • Experience in deployment, verification, and validation of embedded software products.
  • Familiarity with cross-platform development and debugging tools.
  • Good to have hands on work experience with Free RTOS or Zephyr RTOS.
  • Good Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, Self-motivated, team player, capable of multitasking. Professional
  • Communication skills are a definite must for this position.
  • Seasoned using embedded debugging tools such as Oscilloscope, debuggers and protocol analyzers
  • Experience in deployment and testing of embedded software products
  • Experience in Verification and validation of embedded software products
  • Familiarity with cross-platform development and debugging tools
  • Familiarity with command line build tools
  • Knowledge/experience in I2C, SPI or other networking & real-time content streaming protocols
  • Very good team player and good at communication within and outside of the organization
  • Knowledge/experience in MPLAB/ KIEL IDE and tool chains is a Plus
  • Experience in Security, Azure platform and IOT platform is preferable.
  • Candidate with education from reputed institutes with good academic records is preferred

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $70,304 - $205,000.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
