Our growing Cloud Operations team is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer that will help drive our cloud infrastructure and services to new heights. We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure (Azure) to join our dynamic and innovative Cloud Operations team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cloud architecture and services, demonstrate leadership capabilities, and have a proven track record of designing and implementing robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure.
Your First 90 Days
In your First 30 Days, as your familiarity with our products, environments, and pipeline grows, your responsibilities and influence will grow as well. You, along with your team, will be responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the cloud infrastructure. Further, you will collaborate with members of both the Product, Cloud Architecture, and Operations teams to ensure our solutions are stable, monitored, and managed effectively and securely to support our customers.
Within your First 60 Days, you will have a full understanding of the different components that make up technology stack. You should now be comfortable contributing new features to our platform and expanding the functionality. You will be highly influential in the formation of the rest of our Cloud Operations Team as you help hire additional engineers.
Within your First 90 Days, you will help drive changes to the operational and development roadmap as we continue onboarding new and existing customers into our hosted production environments.
What You’ll Do
- Work independently with a high degree of autonomy, taking initiative to identify and address opportunities for improvement and innovation in our cloud infrastructure.
- Mentor and coach other Engineers on the team, as needed, providing guidance, support, and knowledge sharing to help them develop their skills and advance their careers.
- Oversee the implementation and management of observability solutions using the LGTM stack (Loki, Grafana, Tempo, Mimir) and Prometheus. Ensure systems are monitored effectively and that reliability engineering principles are applied.
- Implement monitoring, automation, and optimization techniques to ensure the health and performance of cloud systems.
- Guide the design and management of networking solutions, including VPCs, subnets, and security groups, ensuring secure and efficient communication within the cloud environment.
- Design and develop scalable, high-performance, and secure cloud architectures leveraging Azure services.
- Oversee and execute the implementation and deployment of cloud solutions, ensuring best practices and high standards are met.
- Ensure cloud solutions adhere to security and compliance standards and practices.
- Work closely with stakeholders, including developers, operations, and business leaders, to understand requirements and deliver effective cloud solutions.
- Stay current with emerging Azure technologies and industry trends, and continuously seek opportunities to improve existing systems and processes.
- Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for system designs, processes, and best practices. Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
Who You Are
- 3+ years of experience in IT with a strong focus on cloud computing, including 2+ years of experience specifically with Azure. 1-3 years of experience with SQL Server.
- Azure Solutions Architect or similar advanced Azure certifications.
- Proficiency in Azure services such as Compute, Storage, Function Apps, BICEP, and others. Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, Terraform, etc.
- Deep understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Expertise with the LGTM stack (Loki, Grafana, Tempo, Mimir) and Prometheus, with a focus on building and maintaining effective observability and monitoring solutions.
- Strong knowledge of reliability engineering practices, including high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.
- Proven ability to lead projects, mentor team members, and drive technical excellence within a team.
- Ability to work independently, taking initiative and ownership of complex projects and challenges.
- In-depth knowledge of networking concepts and security best practices in a cloud environment.
- Proficiency with Git/GitLab for version control and collaboration.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Your Differentiators
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools to support automation and deployment.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, in addition to EKS, for managing containerized applications.
- Infrastructure as Code leveraging Terraform
- Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and tools such as CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with other cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and drive technology advancements within the organization.

The salary range for this opportunity is $135,320 - $159,200 per year. You will be eligible for employee equity and discretionary bonus compensation, subject to plans that may be in effect from time to time.
