Accounting General Department

Vantage Accounting Operations is a shared services team responsible for accurately and efficiently recording financial transactions while building positive financial relationships with customers and vendors across North America.

The team coordinates the entry, review, and approval of day-to-day transaction processing in accordance with financial policies and department SLAs. The team members proactively engage in solving problems through close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders in the development and implementation of continuous process improvements by maximizing the use of our technology resources, and continuing education to improve accounting operational efficiency through assessing, standardizing, and streamlining day-to-day processes. The team behaves with integrity, synergy, flexibility, respect, and initiative.

Position Overview

This role will be based in: Denver, CO and is in alignment with our flexible work policy (3 days on site required, 2 days flexible).

Vantage is looking for an autonomous, detail-oriented, high-performing Senior Accountant to work with our Finance team to ensure financial reporting accuracy and contribute to an effective internal control environment.

You will play a critical role in the monthly close process by driving the preparation of support for certain journal entries and reconciliations.

You will have opportunities to work with the global finance team and support cross departmental function through helping design global allocation processes. You will assist in financial reporting activities, including preparation of monthly and quarterly internal financial reporting. You will also assist in non-routine projects as they arise.

Essential Job Functions

• Serve as an accounting business partner for assigned departments, entities, properties, and business areas, ensuring financial activity is complete, accurate, appropriately classified, and recorded in the correct period.
• Apply US GAAP and company accounting policies to determine appropriate accounting treatment and general ledger classification, while coordinating budget, forecasting, project, and ownership matters with the appropriate Finance partners.
• Perform monthly reviews of assigned revenue and other financial activity to identify timing, completeness, and classification issues.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, allocations, amortization schedules, reclassifications, and account reconciliations, completing assigned close activities within established deadlines.
• Analyze account activity and period-over-period trends, investigate variances and discrepancies, and prepare correcting entries or follow-up actions as needed.
• Own assigned reconciliations and recurring accounting workstreams end-to-end, from gathering source data and coordinating with stakeholders through review, resolution, and system upload.
• Review assigned invoices, purchase orders, and other transactions for appropriate accounting treatment and supporting documentation in accordance with established approval requirements.
• Maintain clear, complete, and audit-ready documentation that supports financial statement balances, transaction-level activity, internal controls, and preparer and reviewer sign-off requirements.
• Partner cross-functionally to resolve open items, obtain missing support, clarify business activity, and drive assigned matters to timely resolution.
• Support internal and external audits, process improvements, automation initiatives, and cross-training activities that strengthen efficiency, consistency, and team coverage.
• Handle additional duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or equivalent experience required.

Experience:

• Relevant progressive accounting experience, including experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, reclassifications, and financial analyses.
• Experience independently managing assigned accounting responsibilities and collaborating with cross-functional business partners.
• Experience in a multi-entity, real estate, data center, or similarly complex operating environment is preferred.

Skills:

• Working knowledge of US GAAP and the ability to apply accounting policies and sound judgment to routine and non-routine transactions.
• Understanding of internal controls over financial reporting; SOX experience is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications; experience with enterprise accounting systems is preferred.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills with careful attention to detail and documentation.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, meet close deadlines, and take ownership of assigned workstreams.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
• Commitment to continuous improvement, process discipline, and maintaining audit-ready support.

• Travel required is expected to be up to 5% but may increase over time as the business evolves.

Additional Details

• Salary Range: $85,000 – $95,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)
