The Radiology Technologist — R.T. provides specialized diagnostic imaging support within the Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging section by performing radiographic exams, assisting with fluoroscopic procedures, and ensuring high-quality imaging for clinical care and teaching. The position coordinates patient scheduling maintains imaging systems and records and collaborates with clinicians to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. This role also contributes to the hospital’s educational mission by training students, residents, and staff in radiology procedures and radiation safety.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Perform diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging procedures on animal patients by positioning patients appropriately, selecting exposure factors, and producing high-quality images to support accurate clinical diagnosis and treatment planning.

  • Coordinate and prioritize imaging exams by scheduling cases, communicating with clinicians and departments, and managing workflow to ensure efficient use of imaging equipment, personnel, and time while maintaining patient safety and welfare.

  • Operate and maintain radiology systems and imaging technologies including radiographic equipment, fluoroscopic C-Arm, and RIS/PACS platforms to ensure accurate image capture, data management, and continuity of diagnostic services.

  • Train and instruct veterinary students, residents, technologists, and clinicians in radiographic techniques, radiation safety, patient positioning, and equipment use to support the hospital’s teaching mission and safe clinical practice.

  • Ensure quality assurance and safety compliance by monitoring image quality, maintaining technique charts, following radiation safety protocols, and implementing improvements to procedures that enhance efficiency and diagnostic outcomes.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary clinical teams by communicating exam requirements, coordinating special procedures, and facilitating timely delivery of imaging results to support patient care and service operations.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support radiology operations, including assisting with specialized procedures, managing supplies, scheduling on-call coverage, and maintaining readiness for emergency or after-hours imaging needs.

Conditions of Employment:
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

  • Pre-employment criminal background check

  • Essential Services Designation: Required to report without delay or interruption to provide essential or emergency services to ensure health, safety, and welfare.

Supervision:

No formal supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in radiologic technology.

  • Minimum 2+ years related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5 years' experience within a healthcare or veterinary system

  • Bachelor's degree

Salary Range$72,000 - $77,000
