Summary:

In this role, you will serve as a strategic resource dedicated to managing sourcing and implementation activity for the Northeastern Purchasing Coalition (NPC) aggregation group, in the Vizient and aptitude systems. You will partner with Yale New Haven, NPC staff and internal Vizient stakeholders to perform various functions focused on delivering best in class service, value, and support to the NPC membership.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish strong relationships with Yale New Haven/NPC sourcing teams through ongoing connections and interactions focused on common goals.
  • Partner with teams to develop ongoing pipeline and opportunities for growth.
  • Lead efforts in working with teams to ensure NPC member relationship support.
  • Facilitate strategic and operational activity as it relates to sourcing, negotiations, and implementation, such as member conversion potential and ensure the NPC is receiving best-in-class value, terms, and conditions.
  • Establish and maintain internal relationships with cross-functional teams, ensuring collaboration to meet external stakeholder needs.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of request for proposal (RFP) process and contractual terms to provide guidance through the contracting process.
  • Lead and facilitate negotiations with key suppliers to drive value in RFP process.
  • Collaborate with internal and external analyst to develop reporting insights to support contracting process.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of the operations, cost drivers, and market dynamics of product and/or service categories across many different departments (Medical Surgical, Cardiology, Orthopedics, IT, HR, Finance, Facilities, Clinical Operations, etc. optional) with particular emphasis on physician preference areas such as Cardiovascular, Orthopedics and Trauma.
  • Present and communicate successes, opportunities, and challenges to Vizient leadership and to member health systems, or key stakeholders.
  • Mentor and develop members of the sourcing team (e.g. Sourcing Executive, Associate Sourcing Executives).
  • Support Reveal program expansion through recruitment and operational engagement.
  • Manage Reveal onboarding process with new suppliers.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • 7 or more years of relevant experience in health care, contracting, negotiating, or sales required.
  • Experience in management, leading teams, or consulting preferred.
  •    Strong presentation skills and experience presenting to senior management.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of Products.
  • Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $102,400.00 to $179,000.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
