This position serves as a program administrator and office manager, overseeing key academic programs, financial management, dashboards, events, external outreach, and the department’s online and social media presence. The work unit supports the mission and responsibilities of the Department of Accounting in the College of Business by providing proactive oversight of land‑grant teaching, research, service, and outreach activities related to the discipline of Accounting. It provides high‑level professional, technical, and administrative support to the Department Chair and faculty, with significant involvement in strategic planning and departmental operations.
Essential Job Duties:Ensuring day-to-day activities and needs of the Department are met including maintaining the Operations Manual, oversight of physical office space, faculty administrative support, and customer service
Provide support directly to the department chair including scheduling
Aid in creating documentation, maintaining department files, coordinating processes, department onboarding, and maintaining confidentiality
Plan, coordinate, and oversee department meetings and events with internal and external constituents
Monitors department accounts and performs Kuali Account Manager responsibilities to insure posted transactions are correct and in accordance with university provisions. Meets with department chair and fiscal officers for regular review of the status of accounts and identification of potential issues.
Prepares and processes documentation, verifies funding accounts and approvals, reallocates expenses, and executes budget adjustments and corrections using the Kuali financial system.
Creates written communications for internal and external audiences including social media and website presence
Supervises one to two student office workers (10-20 hours/week or 0.25-.5 FTE/week)
