The Production Coordinator oversees plant operations, ensuring safety and efficiency in cement production, coordinating with teams, and managing production activities and equipment maintenance.
About the Job
The Production Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and monitoring daily plant operations to ensure production targets, operational standards, and safety requirements are achieved efficiently. The role oversees Shift Managers, supervises WBI inspections, and ensures smooth operational performance through effective coordination, compliance, and continuous monitoring of production activities.
What you'll be doing
- Within the framework of the production
instructions given by the Production Manager, is in charge of all operational
activities from raw material feed bins, raw grinding, Clinker Production,
Cement grinding up to Cement Dispatch and ensures that activities are carried
out safely in accordance with quality control procedures and environmental
regulations.
- He is also the main interface between Maintenance,
Quality, Quarry and Process in core operations phase.
- Lead SAP production execution and Production Month end
closing (MEC) in the plant and in charge of production raw Material inventory.
- Promotes site best safety practices and efforts
throughout the plant.
- Operates and optimizes all aspects of raw-mix/additive
transport, feed proportioning, raw mill and kiln systems in compliance with
company Product quality standard and requirements.
- Analyze, review and report the monthly/yearly
requirement of raw mix, correctives and additives to ensure stable clinker
production and Cement grinding as per target and taking equipment short/long
term Maintenance into consideration.
- Proper follow up with inspectors & patrollers on
daily Walk-by-inspection checklist and equipment maintenance history with a
view to improving overall equipment reliability.
- Coordination of equipment operating logistics with
Quality, Maintenance, and Process departments.
- Optimization and assist in troubleshooting plant
circuits where required to improve equipment availability.
- Prioritization of work orders with the maintenance
department and ensuring that maintenance activities are carried out with the
right procedures and standards (Risk Assessment, WAH, EI etc.)
- Recommends disciplinary measures when required.
- Identifies areas that require the development of
standard operating procedures for Production Department.
- Lead Plant improvement initiatives, Participates in
the planning and organization of short and long term plant stoppages to improve
reliability.
- Effective monitoring of the performance of contractors
in Production with clearly defined KPI’s.
- Assists in operational and safety training of current
and new employees.
- Assists in the development of Production Departmental
budget.
- Coordinate all interventions in case of breakdown.
- Take over the direct responsibility for the control of
the Raw Mills, Kilns and Cement grinding equipment’s in case of complicated
situation.
- Guarantee the respect of the planned consumption of
the electrical power.
- Oversee the shift leaders / CCR operation and instruct
on required area of concentration
- Control production activities to comply with group
environmental standards and maintain good housekeeping.

management:
- Defines the objectives of his team and carries out
their performance reviews, promotes his team motivation, skills and
developments through coaching.
- Provides leadership, direction and guidance to all
direct/indirect lines of reports.
- Develop and propose training plan for team and ensure
they are relevant to their career developments.
- Encourages teamwork in order to ensure continuous flow
of operations.
- Appraises direct reports based on set KPIs.

Requirements
- Good
knowledge of cement manufacturing processes.
- Raw meal
preparation, burning, combustion, grinding and packing operation.
- Good
knowledge of safety laws and regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of production management and
planning.
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant postgraduate working
experience
