Pollardwater, a division of Ferguson Waterworks, is a leading supplier of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) products, specializing in tools, equipment, and supplies for municipal water and wastewater operations throughout North America. Since 1837, Pollardwater's team of industry experts has focused on providing superior customer service and innovative solutions to support a wide range of industry needs.

Pollardwater is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for a Product Specialist. In this role, you will work closely with the sales team to provide technical product expertise, sales support, training, and product management functions to both existing and prospective customers.

Location: This role is approved to be fully remote and can be based anywhere in the United States.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for designated product categories: Chemical feed and Laboratory equipment,

  • Respond to daily technical inquiries from customers, sales associates, and vendors.

  • Handle all documentation related to meetings, projects, schedules, data requests, and assigned initiatives.

  • Provide training to internal and external customers on the operation, application, theory, and troubleshooting of products.

  • Assist in developing detailed project schedules and coordinating activities across multiple project sites.

  • Partner closely with outside sales teams to drive product adoption, support customer needs, and develop future succession plans within the organization.

  • Organize, schedule, and participate in project meetings, either in person or virtually.

  • Attend lunch-and-learns, trade shows, conferences, and engineering presentations to promote products and strengthen customer relationships.

  • Conduct jobsite visits to support product installations and provide guidance to customers and vendors.

  • Contribute content and technical expertise for the development and maintenance of the Pollardwater product catalog and related marketing materials.

  • Maintain product category information including cost structures, selling prices, specifications, and product positioning.

  • Update website content with accurate product information, technical data, and new product offerings.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers and vendors, including negotiating pricing and supporting strategic supplier partnerships.

  • Identify and evaluate new products, technologies, and vendor partners to expand and strengthen Pollardwater's product portfolio.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in MRO, utility, waterworks, industrial tools, safety equipment, wastewater treatment, water treatment, or closely related industries.

  • Experience with chemical feed systems, laboratory equipment, water treatment processes, or wastewater treatment operations preferred.

  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand product applications, specifications, and customer requirements.

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot technical product issues and communicate solutions effectively.

  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications and the ability to navigate multiple software platforms.

  • Basic reporting experience using Excel, including sorting, filtering, and compiling data.

  • Demonstrated relationship-building, customer service, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and respond to urgent customer requests.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience creating PowerPoint presentations and coordinating, facilitating, and leading both in-person and virtual training sessions.

  • Experience supporting product lifecycle management, pricing administration, vendor relationships, or category management activities is preferred.

  • Willingness and ability to travel 10% to 15% of the time for trade shows, training events, and industry meetings,

Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
