We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Production Manager / Processing Manager. This role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective management of the branch's production and processing operations. This position provides direct leadership to production supervisors, leads, and production employees and is accountable for achieving established goals related to safety, quality, productivity, customer service, labor, scheduling, and operating costs. 

The Production Manager / Processing Manager plans, coordinates, and manages daily production activities to ensure customer orders are processed accurately and delivered according to established specifications and schedules. This position is responsible for optimizing production capacity, workforce utilization, equipment performance, material flow, and processing efficiency while maintaining compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and applicable regulations. 

The Production Manager / Processing Manager works closely with the Operations Manager and other departments to ensure production activities support overall branch objectives 


We offer weekly pay, paid hoildays, accured PTO as well as health benefis after 60 days.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and provide leadership for all production and processing activities within the branch. 
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily production and processing activities based on customer requirements, production capacity, staffing, equipment availability, and delivery schedules. 
  • Ensure production orders are processed accurately, efficiently, and according to customer specifications and quality standards. 
  • Establish and monitor production goals, performance targets, and key performance indicators. 
  • Monitor production output, productivity, labor utilization, downtime, scrap, rework, and other operational metrics. 
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve production efficiency, throughput, quality, and cost effectiveness. 
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and workforce allocation to meet production requirements. 
  • Develop and manage production schedules and adjust priorities based on changing customer and business needs. 
  • Supervise and develop Production Supervisors, Leads, and production employees. 
  • Provide coaching, feedback, training, and performance management to production personnel. 
  • Participate in recruitment, selection, onboarding, and development of production employees. 
  • Work with Human Resources regarding employee relations, performance issues, corrective action, attendance, and other personnel matters. 
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and applicable OSHA, DOT, Federal, State, and Local requirements. 
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure employees are properly trained and follow established safety procedures. 
  • Ensure production equipment, machinery, tools, and work areas are properly maintained and operated safely.  
Qualifications

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. 
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in production, processing, manufacturing, steel service center, distribution, or a related industrial environment. 
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or management experience in a production or processing environment. 
  • Experience managing Production Supervisors, Leads, or other production personnel. 
  • Experience with production planning, scheduling, workforce management, and operational performance metrics. 
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, steel processing, material handling, warehouse, or distribution operations preferred. 
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and workplace safety practices.
