SUMMARY

    The Pricing Specialist, SMB, works with the SMB Accounts team by coordinating pricing requests, supplier communication, customer pricing materials, and contract preparation. This is an entry-level role designed for individuals looking to build experience in the retail energy industry. The position focuses on learning pricing processes, maintaining accurate data, tracking open requests, and keeping pricing work moving in a fast-paced environment.  

OUTCOMES (SCORECARD FOR SUCCESS)

  • Pricing requests are completed accurately and within agreed turnaround expectations.  
  • Data, pricing records, and contract documentation are maintained with minimal errors 
  • Supplier and internal follow-ups are completed in time to meet pricing request deadlines.  
  • Pricing and reporting tasks are reviewed for accuracy before completion or sendoff.  
  • Questions from sales, operations, clients, and suppliers are responded to promptly and clearly.  
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of energy products and pricing processes within the first 90 days 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collect and organize information needed for pricing requests 
  • Prepare and update customer pricing materials using approved templates, pricing inputs, and team guidance.  
  • Communicate with energy suppliers to request pricing and gather contract information 
  • Review pricing data and documentation for accuracy and completeness before sendoff 
  • Track pricing requests, open follow-ups, and deadlines  
  • Maintain pricing spreadsheets, reports, and internal tracking tools 
  • Prepare and route contract documentation after pricing terms are confirmed.  
  • Coordinate with sales and operations teams to resolve pricing, proposal, and documentation questions  
  •  Build working knowledge of energy products, pricing structures, and market fundamentals 
  • Complete pricing-related administrative and operational tasks related to SMB pricing requests, proposals, reporting, and contract documentation

QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Ability to manage multiple pricing requests, follow-ups, and deadlines in a deadline-driven environment 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Willingness to independently learn pricing processes, supplier requirements, and energy markets 
  • Ability to work accurately with spreadsheets, pricing data, and contract details 
  •  
    Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or related field  
  • Experience working in pricing, sales operations, contract administration, trading, or energy procurement functions

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work environment: Office-based or hybrid, fast-paced and deadline-driven 
  • Physical requirements: Prolonged sitting, computer-based work, frequent data analysis 
  • Schedule expectations: Standard business hours with occasional need for rapid turnaround based on market timing
