Role and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI datasets, semantic models, reports, and dashboards that support CDC DFSE business, operational, and modernization initiatives.
- Partner with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate reporting requirements into intuitive and actionable visualizations.
- Develop scalable data models, calculated measures, KPIs, and analytics solutions using DAX and Power Query to support data-driven decision making.
- Create executive, operational, and program management dashboards that provide visibility into modernization efforts, project performance, and business outcomes.
- Integrate and consume data from multiple sources, including SQL databases, Azure services, Power Platform solutions, and legacy systems being modernized under the program.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Power Platform Developers, Business Analysts, and customer stakeholders to ensure data quality, consistency, and reporting accuracy.
- Support modernization initiatives by replacing manual and legacy reporting processes with automated Power BI solutions.
- Develop reporting recommendations, visualization approaches, and analytics concepts that support DFSE strategic planning and operational priorities.
- Implement security controls.
- Troubleshoot report performance issues, data refresh failures, data quality problems, and user-reported defects.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, sprint planning, demonstrations, and stakeholder reviews.
- Prepare technical documentation, data dictionaries, report specifications, and user guides to support long-term sustainment and knowledge transfer
- Conduct user training sessions, report walkthroughs, and knowledge-sharing activities to increase adoption of analytics capabilities across program.
- Contribute to project reporting, status updates, contract deliverables, and continuous process improvement efforts.
- Ability to get CDC clearance reactivated/initiated.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards, datasets, and data models.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service, including publishing, maintaining, and monitoring reports.
- Experience developing on an Agile team using a service management board and participating in Agile ceremonies to include sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily standups, demos, and updating tickets
- Ability to be self-driven and proactive with planning, development, and customer engagement.
