A day in the life

The Payroll Analyst plays a key role in delivering accurate, timely payroll while helping evolve how payroll work gets done.

In addition to managing U.S. bi-weekly payroll in Workday and coordinating Canada payroll with a third-party provider, this role will look for opportunities to use technology, automation, and AI-enabled approaches to simplify processes, strengthen controls, and improve the employee experience.

The role partners closely with Human Resources, Accounting, Tax, Stock Compensation, external payroll providers, tax consultants, and taxing authorities to issues and turn payroll data into useful insights.

This is an opportunity for someone who brings strong payroll expertise and is energized by finding smarter, more efficient ways to operate.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage day-to-day bi-weekly, and on-demand payroll processing to support timely and accurate payments and deposit requirements.

• Administer U.S. bi-weekly payroll in Workday and coordinate Canada bi-weekly payroll with a third-party payroll provider.

• Identify opportunities to streamline recurring payroll activities through automation, emerging technology, and AI-enabled workflows while maintaining appropriate accuracy, controls, and judgment.

• Analyze payroll data and reporting needs to identify trends, exceptions, and opportunities to improve processes, then collaborate with internal teams to create and maintain reports and supporting documentation.

• Monitor changes to federal, state, and local tax rules and regulations, and coordinate required payroll compliance updates in Workday and third-party systems.

• Prepare payroll funding wire requests as first authorizer, initiate periodic payroll audits, and use available technology to strengthen reconciliation, review, and exception-identification processes.

•Serve as a primary contact for payroll inquiries and partner with Human Resources, Accounting, Tax, Stock Compensation, and external partners to research issues, resolve root causes, and improve payroll operations.

Building blocks for success

Required:

• 5+ years of payroll experience.

• Experience processing payroll in Workday.

• Detailed knowledge of current U.S. payroll and benefits laws and regulations.

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax compliance requirements.

• Experience preparing payroll reports, audits, and supporting documentation for internal stakeholders and external partners.

• Understanding of U.S. stock plans and bonus administration.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment while meeting timelines with accuracy.

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.

• Strong analytical, written, verbal, and customer service skills.

Preferred:

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).

• General knowledge of global payroll rules and regulations.

• Canada payroll experience.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.

• Experience identifying opportunities to automate, simplify, or improve recurring payroll processes.

• Demonstrates willingness and capability to leverage emerging technology, automation, and AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and speed. Exercises sound judgment, creative thinking, and accountability for outcomes.

Hiring Salary Range of: $75,600 - $92,400. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target) to be determined by the candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
