Summary:
The Operations Technician - Entry Level in Parachute, CO is responsible for monitoring and managing all aspects of chemical process production. This role involves field observation, computer monitoring, and taking corrective actions to maintain processes within control guidelines. The position requires familiarity with chemical processes, associated hazards, and mechanical equipment, along with the ability to recognize and address abnormal conditions.


Responsibilities:

  • Monitor field equipment through inspection and instrumentation, and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Start and stop compressors, blowers, pumps, and other equipment.
  • Collect process samples, perform lab analyses, and document results and actions.
  • Frequently climb ladders and stairs to access equipment, and use safety harnesses when necessary.
  • Adjust valves and controls, and monitor pressures, levels, and temperatures.
  • Maintain an electronic logbook of process changes, alarms, and deviations.
  • Prepare equipment for maintenance and participate in production improvement measures.
  • Comply with Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and Environmental policies.
  • Stay updated on quality and food safety plans and incorporate them into work practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift, including weekends and holidays.
  • Capacity to lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Basic understanding of chemical processes and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to work under direct supervision in a trainee capacity, as needed.
  • Adaptability to adjust work procedures and stop unsafe activities.
  • Willingness to work overtime and be on call for unscheduled needs.
