We are seeking a Network Engineer to support our Missile Warning / Missile Track Enhancement (MW/MT) program. This role plays a key part in protecting the U.S. through missile defense initiatives and includes model‑based systems engineering, network design, implementation, testing, and deployment to operational locations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement network architectures aligned with system and mission requirements.

  • Create and maintain network diagrams, technical documentation, and standard operating procedures.

  • Develop, deploy, and sustain network infrastructure supporting missile defense systems.

  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and root‑cause analysis for complex network issues.

  • Communicate proposed network solutions to cross‑functional engineering teams in a fast‑paced, highly technical environment.

  • Execute change control processes, document configuration changes, and maintain configuration backups.

  • Support network security activities, including firewall rule reviews and traffic log analysis.

  • Perform configuration, performance analysis, and troubleshooting of network devices.

  • Develop software‑based solutions using established industry standards.

  • Collaborate with third‑party contractors and stakeholders to establish and maintain network connections.

  • Conduct network planning and evaluate emerging technologies for potential integration.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline with 4+ years of relevant experience (additional experience, training, or certifications may substitute for degree).

  • U.S. citizenship; Currently possessing an active DoD Secret security clearance.

  • Proven abilities with network automation/orchestration tools such as Ansible.

  • Experience designing high‑performance, high‑reliability network infrastructures.

  • Experience with network design technical documentation including: Network diagrams, IP Addressing, Data Flows, Security, Network Inventory, Capacity planning, etc.

  • Strong understanding of networking protocols and concepts including TCP/IP, VLANs, and VPNs.

  • Experience with networking tools for containerized environments.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within engineering teams.

  • Ability to convey technical ideas in a clear, logical fashion.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

  • Familiarity with network design tools and diagramming practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field.

  • Experience with Cisco devices and ASA software.

  • Cisco CCNP or other advanced networking certifications.

  • Experience with CAMEO or other model‑based systems engineering tools.

Pay Range:Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
