The Network Engineer II resolves network outages, manages hardware/software deployment, and assists in planning network enhancements while adhering to standards.
This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.
Under limited supervision, the Network Engineer II is responsible for a wide-range of break-fix and deployment activities within the access network including Integrated Cable Modem Termination Systems (iCMTS), Optical Line Terminals (OLT) and hardware associated with the Converged Interconnect Network (CIN) that supports our Distributed Access Architecture (DAA). As a Network Engineer II you will also assist in the planning and implementation of network enhancements across the access network while ensuring adherence to corporate standards and maintaining network reliability.

$75,200.00 and $120,000.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. How You'll Make an Impact
- Responsible for the effective resolution of network outages and impairments to ensure the highest level of customer uptime across the network.
- Actively involved in break-fix activities related to the access network and partners with internal verticals to drive customer impacting events to resolution.
- Supports the deployment and activation of access network hardware and software across the network while adhering to corporate change management policies.
- Responsible for the implementation of approved network architecture and designs.
- Assists in the development and documentation of technical standards.
- Works on one or more projects as a team member.
- Knows, understands and follows company policy.
- Performs other duties as requested by Manager.
Working Conditions
- May work in Network Lab environment
- 24X7 Network Operations environment
- Must be able to work the following shift: Monday through Friday 9:00AM - 5:00PM and on-call rotation, as necessary.
- Occasional travel as required
What You'll Bring to Spectrum
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience
Experience
- 3+ years of data network experience
Skills
- Ability to use personal computer and software applications.
- Data networking knowledge (OSI Model, TCP/IP, Optical Transport)
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to perform duties in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in network devices and basic network appliances.
- Advanced knowledge of network designing software, such as Visio.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum one (1) year operating Ethernet, IP, Optical, RF and/or DWDM-based optical network architectures/designs that are customer-facing.
- Minimum one (1) year Routing Protocol experience - BGP, IS-IS, MPLS
Education
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- Juniper Network Certified Specialist (JNCIS or JNCIP)
- CableLabs / SCTE Certification
- Vendor Specific Certifications and/or Training (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Nokia)
