The Learning Experience owns the day-to-day cohort experience for financial professionals entering a Mariner Academy certification track. This role is the operational and relational anchor for each track cohort it manages.

This role is charged with accurate and timely management of scheduling, attendance, and reporting on assessment and certification progress. The Program Manager also develops and monitors individualized development plans for advisors who have not yet met minimum standards, ensuring that everyone receives personalized support. Equally important, this position fosters a psychologically safe, inclusive environment where advisors can engage in meaningful peer connection, build complex skills, and confidently progress through their competency assessments.

 

In close partnership with business units, the Program Manager keeps training content current and relevant, consistently embedding Mariner Academy’s values and client-centered communication practices into every cohort interaction. Through data-driven insights and a relentless focus on user experience, this role is critical to driving measurable advisor competency growth on an enterprise scale.

 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee end-to-end scheduling, attendance tracking, and reporting for all assigned cohorts.

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date data and reporting on assessment scores and certification progress for each Track 1 advisor.

  • Coordinate logistics and scheduling with both internal Mariner Academy and external course instructors.

  • Design and monitor targeted development plans for advisors not currently meeting minimum competency metrics.

  • Facilitate monthly cohort meetings, cultivating psychological safety and fostering peer connection and engagement.

  • Partner with course instructors to ensure all training content is current, relevant, and aligned with evolving business needs.

  • Champion Mariner Academy values and client-centered communication style throughout all cohort facilitation.

  • Apply adult learning theory principles to facilitate engaging and effective virtual cohort learning experiences.

  • Collaborate with Mariner Academy team members to align timelines, standards, and best practices across certification tracks.

  • Monitor and escalate at-risk advisors, coordinating remediation support with designated coaching resources.

  • Ensure compliance with attendance and assessment standards essential for certification progression.

  • Lead continuous improvement efforts for cohort facilitation practices, leveraging advisor feedback and outcome data.

 
 
QualificationsRequired Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • Proven experience managing groups, cohorts, or teams in training, coaching, or professional development settings.

  • Strong organizational, data-tracking, and reporting skills.

 
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Experience facilitating virtual training using adult learning theory techniques.

  • Familiarity with evidence-based communication strategies (e.g., Motivational Interviewing), and willingness to achieve MI proficiency within the first year.

  • Background in finance or experience training business or leadership professionals.

  • Training and experience in Instructional Design.
