Technical Lead – Aviation Flight Planning Systems

At World Kinect, we’re seeking a Technical Lead to guide a high-performing engineering team in building mission-critical products that power the future of flight planning. What You’ll Do- Lead with Vision: Define and drive the technical roadmap in close collaboration with architects, product owners, and engineering leadership—ensuring alignment with business strategy and future scalability.
- Balance Strategy & Execution: Split your time between hands-on development (proof-of-concepts, refactoring legacy systems) and strategic leadership (process improvement, documentation, and team enablement).
- Champion Engineering Excellence: Uphold best practices in code quality, security, testing, and documentation—ensuring robust, scalable, and secure systems.
- Mentor & Inspire: Empower engineers through coaching, code reviews, and technical guidance, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with aviation experts, QA, product teams, and stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions that meet real-world needs.
- Languages & Frameworks: Expert-level experience in C#/.NET, including ASP.NET Core, .NET MVC, Web APIs, Razor, HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, JSON, SQL, and XML.
- Architecture & Integration: Proven ability to design and scale distributed systems that integrate across diverse tech stacks.
- Cloud & DevOps: Strong understanding of deployment patterns and pipelines; experience with Bitbucket Pipelines and AWS is a plus.
- API Development: Proficient in GraphQL for efficient, flexible data access.
- Security & Identity: Deep knowledge of secure coding practices, authentication frameworks (e.g., OAuth), and session management.
- Testing & Quality: Skilled in writing testable code and implementing unit/integration tests using nUnit or similar frameworks.
- Version Control: Advanced proficiency in Git for collaborative development and release management.
- A proven track record of leading software development teams and delivering complex, high-impact systems.
