First Presbyterian Church is seeking a High School Director to help lead a vibrant, Christ-centered ministry for students and families as we live out our mission to be Light + Life for the City.

This role is ideal for a relational, energetic leader who is passionate about helping students meet and follow Jesus while equipping volunteers and building strong partnerships with families.

Position Overview

The High School Director is a key member of the Youth Ministries Team, responsible for creating engaging environments where students experience belonging, grow in their faith, and develop as disciples of Jesus Christ. This role focuses on leading high school ministry programs, building relationships, and equipping volunteers to effectively disciple students.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute weekly programs, events, and discipleship opportunities for high school students
  • Build meaningful relationships with students, parents, and volunteer leaders
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteer teams
  • Teach, disciple, and mentor students in their faith
  • Partner with Family Ministries staff to support student development from youth into young adulthood
  • Assist in outreach efforts and help students engage the discipleship pathway
  • Maintain clear communication and accurate student records
  • Participate in Youth Ministries, Family Ministries, and churchwide initiatives

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2+ years of experience in youth or family ministry
  • Experience leading volunteers and discipling students

Skills & Strengths

  • Strong biblical knowledge and ability to communicate the Gospel clearly
  • Relational, energetic, and effective with students and families
  • Organized and able to lead programs and events with excellence
  • Strong communicator with the ability to connect across generations
