Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking a Geospatial Analyst to join our cadre of skilled professional and technical staff in an on-call capacity to national disaster response across the United States. Work assignments involve being called to support emergency management work for a period of 6-12 months. You will collaborate with some of the best and brightest in the industry and use your expertise to support critical recovery efforts in disaster-impacted communities. This is an excellent opportunity for those who want to use their knowledge, skills and abilities to help disaster survivors at disaster recovery operation work sites throughout the United States and its territories.


Dewberry’s Geospatial and Technology Services creates geospatial and analytical solutions for real-world engineering, environmental, and community problems. Our analysts perform a variety of data services for our clients including data management, governance, analysis, transformation, automation, and visualization.


*Please note, remote work is not permitted for this role. This is a non‑full‑time, deployment‑based on-call position across the United States. Team members are deployed to various sites as needed and may travel frequently. While the role requires physical presence at various locations, it is not tied to a single office or fixed worksite.

Dewberry offers a comprehensive and very competitive package of insurance programs to regular full-time employees and their eligible dependents the first of the month following their date of hire. The insurance package includes medical, dental, vision, and supplemental life. Additional insurances, at no cost to the employee: life (employee only), accidental death and dismemberment, business travel and accident, and short- and long-term disability are also provided. Certain positions are also eligible to receive overtime pay, whereas all non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime (subject to approval).

Responsibilities

Candidates will have strong competencies and demonstrated experience developing data management, analysis, and visualization solutions with an emphasis on business analytics. Work assignments will be varied to include:

  • Work on consulting projects for government and commercial clients.
  • Support large scale geospatial analytical modeling efforts to identify hazards, assess risk, and evaluate risk reduction methods.
  • Apply statistical, numerical and/or computer application techniques.
  • Develop web, mobile, and desktop applications.
  • Participate in testing, supporting and deploying tools and preparing technical documentation.

Required Skills & Required Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, GIS or other relevant geospatial or data science related field.

· At least 3 years’ experience working with data management and analysis applications

· Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Survey123 and other related software.

· Excellent problem-solving, verbal and written communication, design development, and debugging skills.

· Ability to work independently using strong organizational skills and operate effectively in team settings using an agile software development approach.

· Maintain and support application(s) according to changing business/mission requirements.


Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $25 to $40 hourly. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
