Role Summary

The Wealth Services Financial Consultant is responsible for building and deepening client relationships while identifying opportunities to deliver greater value and grow the client’s relationship with T. Rowe Price. The role combines consultative client engagement, business development, and relationship management to understand client needs, connect them with appropriate solutions and resources, and deliver a high-quality wealth management experience.

 

Responsibilities

Drive Business Growth:

  • Identify and create opportunities that deepen the client's relationship with T. Rowe Price. 
  • Uncover outside assets and consolidation opportunities by asking thoughtful questions and developing an understanding of the client's overall financial picture. 
  • Support financial planning and advisory conversion by clearly articulating the value of T. Rowe Price's advice capabilities and ensuring effective client handoffs. 
  • Assist clients with the consolidation of assets through rollovers, transfers, and other appropriate solutions. 
  • Deliver against defined sales and business development goals aligned with Wealth Services and organizational priorities. 

Deliver Consultative Client Engagement:

  • Build and deepen client relationships through proactive outreach and meaningful financial conversations. 
  • Quickly understand a client's immediate needs while broadening the conversation to uncover additional financial goals, priorities, and opportunities. 
  • Apply a consultative sales approach and T. Rowe Price's client interaction model to identify opportunities related to investments, retirement, financial planning, and asset consolidation. 
  • Conduct scheduled client meetings and proactive outreach designed to strengthen relationships and identify opportunities to add value. 

Manage Client Relationships and Sales Pipeline: 

  • Manage time, Salesforce activity, client opportunities, and the sales pipeline to effectively prioritize daily activities. 
  • Maintain consistent inbound and outbound client engagement through calls, scheduled meetings, video meetings, and email. 
  • Document client needs, opportunities, interactions, and next steps accurately within Salesforce. 
  • Maintain disciplined follow-up on sales opportunities, advice referrals, and other identified client needs.

Deliver a High-Quality Wealth Services Experience: 

  • Serve as a trusted resource for clients by providing education and guidance related to their investment and retirement needs within the scope of the role. 
  • Maintain a working knowledge of T. Rowe Price products, services, financial planning capabilities, and relevant industry trends. 
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in client interactions and escalate complex situations when appropriate. 
  • Apply coaching, training, and feedback to continuously improve client conversations and business results. 
  • Ensure client transactions, recommendations, documentation, and communications are accurate and compliant with firm requirements. 

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in financial services, relationship management, sales, business development, client service, or a related function. 
  • FINRA Series 7 license. 
  • FINRA Series 66 license. 
  • Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®), or ability to obtain the designation within the designated timeframe in accordance with applicable licensing requirements. 

 

Preferred:

  • 3+ years of sales or relationship management experience working directly with individual investors. 
  • Experience working with affluent or high-net-worth clients. 

FINRA Requirements

FINRA licenses are required and will be supported for this role.


Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home.

Base Salary Ranges

$80,000 - $117,000 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers
$80,000 - $117,000 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$80,000 - $117,000 for the location of: New York, California

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role.  Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package.  Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
