At EverCommerce [Nasdaq: EVCM], we are on a mission to digitally transform the service economy with tailored, end-to-end SaaS solutions that simplify and empower the lives of our 725,000+ customers.  As a leading service commerce platform, our modern digital and mobile applications create predictable, informed, and convenient experiences between customers and their service professionals in the areas of Home & Field Services, Health Services, and Wellness industries.

We are building an extraordinary company and looking for talented, energetic, and motivated people to join our team. You can learn more about our Company, Culture and Values here: https://careers.evercommerce.com/us/en

EverCommerce is seeking a versatile, business-fluent Staff Full Stack Engineer & Enterprise Solutions Architect to serve as a technical anchor and engineering mentor within our Enterprise Technology organization.

This is a high-impact, "Swiss Army knife" engineering role. You will bridge the gap between business strategy and hands-on execution across our core enterprise domains: Finance (NetSuite, Zuora, Stripe, Coupa), HR (Workday), and Front Office (Salesforce). You will own the full delivery lifecycle: partnering directly with business leaders to elicit requirements, architecting end-to-end integration and microservice designs, building rapid proofs of concept (PoCs), writing production code, and establishing cloud observability in AWS.

Our core backend microservices are built in Java. If you thrive in an environment where you can architect an event-driven Java/Spring Boot microservice in the morning, mentor a senior engineer on system design in the afternoon, and deploy generative AI / agentic workflows (AWS Bedrock) to eliminate manual friction, this role is built for you.

Responsibilities:
  • End-to-End Solution Delivery: Act as an agile product-engineer: lead requirements discovery with business stakeholders (Finance, People/HR, Sales Ops), translate complex operational needs into technical architecture, build functional PoCs, and drive production implementation.
  • Technical Mentorship & Engineering Excellence: Actively mentor, coach, and level up Software Engineers (SWEs) and Senior SWEs across distributed systems design, clean Java coding standards, cloud best practices, and effective troubleshooting.
  • Architecture & Code Governance: Lead architecture design reviews and establish rigorous PR/code review practices to ensure high delivery velocity, zero-defect releases, and audit-ready systems.
  • Java Microservices Architecture: Design, build, and maintain secure, high-throughput backend microservices using Java (Java 17/21, Spring Boot) deployed in AWS environments (ECS/EKS or Lambda).
  • Enterprise SaaS Integration Architecture: Design and implement robust, decoupled integration pipelines connecting core systems (Salesforce, Workday, NetSuite, Zuora, Stripe, Coupa) using a mix of enterprise iPaaS (Workato) and custom REST/GraphQL APIs.
  • Full-Stack Development & Internal Tooling: Build intuitive, responsive internal dashboards, admin consoles, and workflow automation portals using modern frontend technologies (TypeScript, React, Next.js) paired with Java backend services.
  • AWS Cloud & Serverless Infrastructure: Architect and maintain scalable, cost-optimized AWS microservices utilizing API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB/RDS (Aurora PostgreSQL/MySQL), Secrets Manager, and IAM via Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • Next-Gen AI & Agentic Automation: Identify opportunities to deploy practical generative AI solutions; build and integrate custom LLM agents, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) connectors leveraging AWS Bedrock and Claude/OpenAI APIs.
  • Engineering Rigor & SOX Compliance: Champion engineering best practices across CI/CD automation, automated testing (JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers), centralized logging/monitoring (CloudWatch, Datadog), and strict compliance with ITGC/SOX 404(b) controls.
  • Production Ownership & Hypercare: Provide L3 escalation engineering support for critical enterprise data flows, driving blameless root-cause analysis (RCA) and permanent architectural remediation.

Skills and Experience needed for success in this role:
  • 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with at least 2+ years operating in a staff, tech lead, or principal engineering capacity.
  • Mentorship & People Leadership: Demonstrated track record of mentoring and elevating SWEs and Senior SWEs, conducting constructive code/design reviews, and driving team-wide adherence to engineering best practices.
  • Core Java Backend Expertise: Deep, production-grade proficiency in Java (Java 17/21, Spring Boot)developing RESTful APIs, distributed microservices, multi-threading, and event-driven architectures.
  • Frontend / Full-Stack Fluency: Strong working knowledge of modern frontend frameworks (TypeScript, React, HTML5/CSS3) to independently build, enhance, and deploy end-to-end internal tools and interfaces.
  • Enterprise SaaS Functional Fluency: Proven hands-on integration and data-model experience across at least two major enterprise domains:
    • Finance / Order-to-Cash: NetSuite, Zuora, Stripe, or Coupa.
    • HRIS / People Operations: Workday (HCM, Benefits, Compensation).
    • Front Office / CRM: Salesforce (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, CPQ).
  • AWS Cloud Engineering: Deep expertise with AWS core and serverless architecture (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, IAM, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, S3).
  • Enterprise Integration & iPaaS: Deep experience with enterprise iPaaS tools (Workato strongly preferred, or MuleSoft, Boomi) combined with native REST/webhook and custom connector development.
  • Data Layer & Modeling: Solid experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), NoSQL stores (DynamoDB), and data lake/warehouse concepts (Databricks, Snowflake).
  • Security & Governance Mindset: Solid understanding of enterprise authentication/authorization protocols (OAuth 2.0, SAML, mTLS, Okta SSO/SCIM) and audit-ready change management (ITGC, SOX, SOC 2).
  • Communication & Influence: Exceptional ability to converse with C-suite and VP-level business partners in plain business language and seamlessly shift to technical whiteboarding with engineers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Polyglot Backend Skills (Python & Go): Hands-on experience developing backend services, CLI utilities, or high-throughput microservices using Go (Golang) and/or Python (FastAPI, Flask, asynchronous I/O).
  • AI & Agentic Engineering: Hands-on experience developing with AWS Bedrock, LangChain4j, OpenAI/Claude APIs, vector embeddings, or building Model Context Protocol (MCP) connectors.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency in Terraform, AWS SAM, or CDK for automated, reproducible cloud provisioning.
  • Performance & Data Scale: Prior experience working with high-volume transaction reconciliation, financial month-end close acceleration, or Lead-to-Revenue billing migrations.
